Everyone has their own YouTube story on how they became the YouTuber they are today. My story is a little long, confusing, and funny so I figured, why not blog it!

Back in 2010, I made my first channel. Just a simple blog channel. My friends and I would make random videos that ranged between 10-20 minutes and sometimes had 2 parts if they were too long. This channel lasted about 3 months until an unfortunate event in my life forced me to stop doing videos. Not to mention I forgot my password... Kind of for the best when I look back...

About a year and half later, I created a new channel. On this channel, some friends and I were planning on making short little videos, which included a songs in a real life. Unfortunately, you guys aren’t getting the link to that one xD I actually wrote a second one, that I recently found with some old stuff… Maybe I’ll do that some time.


Anyways like a month after that, I started a new series on that channel, where I would invite random people to the video (via skype) and we would talk about a random topic. While this series was going on, I was playing Minecraft a little and I decided I’d get one of those crappy screen recorders and start doing some Minecraft for that channel.

It wasn’t too popular on the channel but it still got some views so I continued. Unfortunately, someone got a hold of my password and they deleted ALL of my Minecraft videos… I was crushed. All the hard work I put into it, GONE as if it never existed! At the time, I wasn’t saving my videos and I would just delete them one uploaded, so I had nothing at all. After that happened, I put out a PSA on that channel saying that someone had deleted a bunch of videos and that I was no longer going to continue on it.

About six months after that, I started my first official Minecraft channel called The Derpy Minecrafters. I bet half of my subs didn’t know that before The Derpier Minecrafters there was just The Derpy Minecrafters… Heheh. Anyways, I was making amateur Minecraft videos on there, and I hooked up my channel with adsense. Now if anyone here knows adsense like I do, they know that that was a huge mistake.

While it was all hooked up, I was having lots of fun, posting videos, custom thumbnails and stuff like that. But then 6 months later, my adsense was disabled for some stupid reason that I dont even remember and I could no longer use custom thumbnails… I continued to produce videos despite this for another month but once I finished my last series, I decided it was time for change.

About a week before the series ended, on July 17th, My friend Chris and I created The Derpier Minecrafters. We both planned on running the channel and we felt that having two people uploaded is better than one. Unfortunately, Chris had to leave the channel because of personal reasons in September, and I was left to record for myself

To solve this issue, I requested to record with a group called Dead Serious Gaming. We went through lots of people but the 3 that really stuck to me were UnDividedKiller, Lemondropity and TheNukeSurvivor. A choice I thought would go well. After a while I decided that I wanted to be a little more independent so I left that group and made my own called The Derpier Minecrafters and I invited all the people from Dead Serious Gaming. Now if any of you are a loyal viewer to my channel, you’ll know that I now record with a guy named Evan, well back then, he was known as TheNukeSurvivor… That’s right, Evan has been with me the longest, and is part of the original Derpier Minecrafters.

After a while, I reconnected with UnDivided via another group (The Diamond Stack) where I also met Shawn, now a good buddy of mine. After reconnecting with Divided, I invited him to my group after telling him about the falling out with Dead Serious Gaming. He gladly accepted and is still in the group today.

We went through many people before we finally found a balance of people. In the group we currently have Evan, Divided, Lemon (yes thats right I invited Lemon in after I re found her on skype) TheMaskedBandid (yes, the mod :) ), Tyler, Ben and Fisk. We all get along well and there’s never any tensions between us all.

This isn’t the end of my journey yet though. Theres a little more. So after finding this equilibrium, I had to leave for the summer to work at a summer camp so I could get some cha-ching to buy a new computer. While I was gone i left a few of the guys incharge of the channel. When i got back I was a little sad to see such a loss of subscribers.

I bought my new awesome computer, and got to work on getting those subscribers back. I figured it was time for a remake of the channel. I renamed the channel to Gaby Games so that i could have it be mained around me and not the group itself, and i began moving away from Minecraft.

Now that we are up to date I can say the current stats. I currently have 611 subs as of today, and I’m trying to work my way to 1000 by 2015! If you read all the way through, congrats, cause this was a long journey for me and now you all know about it too!
