I don't remember much before that day, anything, really. All I remember is waking up in the middle of the woods in some far off place that i had never been t before. It was like civilization had never even existed before, no towns, no cars, no people even. Just myself, a bunch of innocent animals, and limitless possibilities.

At first, I was afraid. I was afraid of what would happen to me out here in the wilderness all alone. For about an hour, I just walked around, examining the surrounds of my initial wake-up point. One one side of my little forest, there was a vast desert that seemed to stretch on for miles, but in the distance there was a large mountain, clearly visible even from my far off little woods.

On the opposite side of my forest was what appeared to be a large, grassy plains area with a few herds of cows and pigs scattered around, minding their own business. I would later find out that these would become my main source of food, along with bread and carrots, and after awhile, it wouldn't even bother me to run an iron sword through them for their meat, but for now i just left them alone.

On the northern side of my forest, there was a hilly area that seemed to be eternally covered in snow, despite the fact it was directly connected to a desert.. At first, I found this quite odd, but after a little while, I decided not to think too much about it and just focus on more important things.

On the final, southern side, there was a vast, seemingly bottomless ocean that stretched on for miles and miles. It gave me a sense of emptiness inside my chest as I looked out at the blue blanket in front of me. I slowly turne away and walked back to my wake-up point, scratching the back of my head as a little surprise awaited me.

Sitting right where I had woken up from not too long ago was a small brown chest, standing there like that was exactly where it belonged in this world. I raised an eyebrow as I stepped towards it, hesitant to open it at first but immediatly flipping the lid open as I reached it. I jumped back in anticipation as the lid flew open, but nothign evil or vicious came out of it; no monsters or demons or hell fire. Just a few simple supplies.

Inside the chest was a sword that was made out of wood, a few perfectly crafted sticks, three torches, a bit of fresh baked bread, a pickaxe with a stone head, and a small black book. Curious of the book, it was the first thing I picked up. On the cover of it, in simple, neat red letters was written "A Guide on how to Survive: by the Great Wizard Notch." I opened it up and sat down against a near-by oak tree, turning to the first page.

"The first step to survival," Notch had written in the book, "is to stock pile as much wood as you can. Don't worry about where to carry or store it all. The chest I provided for you has an almost infinite amount o fspace for you to carry things in, and will never get any heavier no matter how much you put in it."

"The second step is to use a pickaxe to gather as much cobblestone as you can. Cobble stone crafts better tools than wood ever will. Coal, Iron, Red stone, Gold, Diamond, gravel, flint, and emerald are other useful items you can acquire through mining, but most of them need stone or better to mine up. Stone is better than wood, iron is better than stone, diamond is the best of all of them, and gold is... well gold is shiny."

"Food is also important for you to obtain, whether it be bread, carrots, pork, steak, chicken, potatoes, apples, or mushroom stew. Without food, you will start to lose health. Losing health is a very bad thing, and can of course lead to your death."

"The very last tip I will give you is simply this, young adventurer. If you know what's best for you, and you want to stay alive, you'll stay inside after dark. Demons and monsters haunt this world after day time, and nothing can stop them. If you're lucky, you'll survive a few nights without a shelter and your sword, but eventually the sea of the undead will drown you.

I've left you a list of everything you can possibly craft in the back of this book, and a crafting table should be in the chest by now. If you can find my lair a top the mountain on the other side of the desert, I will help you greatly, but first you most train and mine and craft more."

As I closed the book and set it back in the chest, picking it up, pulling out the sword, and noticing it was as light as air and was suddenly small enough to fit in my pocket. Curiously, I put the chest in the pocket of my jeans and moved towards the opening of a cave. The sun was setting by now and I wasn' exactly eager to fight the monsters Notch had warned me about,so i sought refuge in the wide open cave that lay in the near center of my little forest. Little did I know what awaited me in the deep, dark cave...
