Lets talk Blocks!
So We got a few NEW Blocks!
First up - Structured Block.
This one is mostly used for map makers mainly because it acts as the mod/plugin, World Edit. It saves, for example, A house and then you are able to place it in several different locations. You might find this useful if you are good with complicated items in minecraft!
Yeah sounds useful Must be! But uhhh... Where's the block? Oh another /give item. So useful for the people who never knew about those hidden blocks am I right?
Magma Block
Ouch! It burns!!!! In my opinion one of the most useful trap blocks that aren't a liquid!
Can be used to troll people, to protect your house from hostile mobs like those pesky creepers!
Oh you didn't know? Well, Mobs got a new upgrade! (Might not be 100% right) They are now able to detect when there is a fall, liquid, or even a block that deals damage to entities.
They avoid these things unless you fully surround your house... Then they just Yolo it
But yeah all around nice block!
Although this block has a downside to being a trap as said by WhaleTuba in the comments; You can sneak on the block and take no damage.
Next we have the - Nether Wart Block
Uhhh... Eww? These things give you warts to begin with no need to make it bigger and harder to handle!
But yeah this block is weird you craft it in a 3x3 dimension using Nether Warts. Only downside... You can't craft them back into their tiny plant-able forms.
So what use is this? it's just a building block now *Sad face*
Bone block
So yeah Another building block- Also spawns around your new world in random styles and locations.
This block can also be turned into bone meal! (Credit for this goes to WhaleTuba for proving me wrong)

New mobs!
Okay so Lots of talk about the new mobs that came to us in 1.10.
The Husk, The Stray, and the Polar bear!
First off lets talk about The Husk, Lots of people have their opinions on them and lots of people have theories about their being.
I'm not gonna get into the theories.
The Husks in my opinion is a waste of space and a good thing only because they don't really have any new items.
I believe they just drop the normal Rotten flesh, Carrots, Potatoes, and iron ingots.
The thing I like most about them is the fact that they have an ability- the ability to apply Hunger!
The Stray.
Just like the husk they have hundreds of theories and opinions on them already.
Though they have an annoying ability to add slowness I onto you.
These things drop Bones, Slowness arrows, bows, and regular arrows. But they add more life to the biomes they spawn into!
Unlike the desert where the Husks live... Jesus that place is always flooded with creepers. These guys spawn in two locations: The Taiga or Ice plains. They also have a higher chance of spawning instead of the skeletons we come to know and love!
Onto the Polar bear!
Oh this is so cute, a mother protecting it's cubs. I'd warn you to not get too close to them but i'd rather watch you get torn to pieces.
But besides their cute nature, the fact that there is only one breed of Bear in minecraft right now makes it seem a bit weird.
What happened to the rest? The Polar bear spawns in three locations: Ice plains, Ice mountains, and the rare ice spikes biome which is as useful as throwing an egg at a skeleton from a block away. (The biome I mean!)

Have something to say?
If you crouch on the magman block, you don't take damage, so not very good for traps.
You forgot the Structure Block. The structure block does what you explained the structure void as doing, when the void just preserves air blocks I believe. This block is amazing, don't go too hard on it for being a /give block. It's so complicated to use, that it wouldn't be worth it to put it in the creative inventory.
