I played on a server recently called 8-bitcraft. They had in the rule book, said that the only mods you could use on the server were Optifine and any mods that just checked your armor status. When I asked why minimaps weren't allowed, he (he being the owner) said "Minimaps aren't allowed because they make it easy for one person to hunt and kill others while they can't see him. Also, it makes having a faction zone useless, because they can find your base no matter what." This gave me a plugin idea, bringing me to the point of this blog. The idea behind ModBlock is to ban/kick players that use unallowed mods. It works like this:
So in essence, this is an anti-cheat plugin that narrows mods into four catagories:
The commands to put the messages back to default are these:
The person with the unallowed mods will continued to be punished until they take off the offending mods. The plugin detects the offense by what the player tries to do. If the player tries to make a modded weapon and it isn't ok, he will get punished. If the player tries to do something with his minimap and it isn't ok, he will be punished. If the player tries to do something that he shouldn't be allowed to like fly and it isn't ok, he will be punished. And if the player tries to check his armor status in an unusual way and it isn't ok, he will be punished. The default punishment screens are this:
