Hello there and welcome to the very first...
Random Server Rating Time!
In this series I while be choosing 3 random servers from the PMC Recent list, and be rating and reviewing them on 3 different aspects:
1. Spawn cleanliness
Strictly speaking, it's not cleanliness I'm looking for. It's how good the spawn is built, if the spawn is too cluttered, or too small, etc.
2. Friendliness of Staff/Players
I will be reviewing how good I am welcomed into the server, and I will see how good the staff is at helping me with any issues I may have.
3. The amount of "fun" this server has
One thing a server needs to be successful is to be original. If the server has the same plugins than every other server (Factions, Hunger Games etc.) Then they will lose marks.
So let's get started!
Server Number 1: iCraft

As soon as I come on to the server there is a lot of Mods, and the Owner is online, but nobody even bothers to acknowledge my existence. This will take away a few points from their overall ranking. Another thing I noticed was that even though I said "Hello" to everyone they still ignored me and never even noticed me. There seemed to be a sort of fight going on so I decided to leave the Friendliness ranking at a very low 1.
Now, the spawn...First thing is that you actually have to turn left to go out the spawn. It might not seem like much of an issue but if your server had you spawning the wrong way you'd be swarmed with requests to change it to the right direction. The span is a boring oval and the only thing on the floor is some quartz and wool. There is a rather nice Pixel Art of a crafting Table but the spawn is still at a very low points mark. I also notice that the rules and shop buildings are just boxes and that they could seriously be cleaned up way better. So the spawn gets a rather feeble rank of just 4.
And the last thing I need to tell to you is how much "Fun" I would have on the server. I think that this server is like any other, except a bit more boring. Sure, there is aPlotme world and Multiverse is installed but that's basically it, apart from a rather lame version of Normal Survival. I'm going to give the "Fun" rating a score of 5.
So iCraft gets a pretty bad score of just 10/30. The server needs to clean up their act at friendliness and they need a better version of a spawn. They would also need a few more minigames to add to the server. Although they do have a lot of plugins, a lot of them are Staff-Only.
Server Number 2: ZarkNation

On to the next server! And anyways, this server spawn is actually out in the open. The Owner has made no attempt to cover it or anything: It's basically a 3x3 platform with the rules, donation info and other stuff scattered around the place. For the spawn, a paltry 2/10.
Another thing when I entered was that only two people acknowledged me: both normal players like me. It was nice to have some people to talk to me when I had joined but it was only one person and everyone else seemed to either ignore me or was too busy, even when I threw my tools to them. Friendliness:4/10
The final aspect is fun. The server is a normal vannila server at the moment. I like vannila servers because it brings back the old feel of freedom. Another thing is that there is great landscape for a Vanilla server which is great for popularity. Fun:6/10
ZarkNation gets a 12/30. Not too bad, but they could brush up on spawn building and the owner could be a bit more friendly to the others.
Final Server: Ninjacraft

So we come to the last server. As I join, I think "Wow..." The server spawn is actually a really good one. It looks as if it was based on Ancient England or something xD I have no idea. But anyways this awesome spawn gets great marks as it gets an 8/10.
Next thing is friendliness. The Owner greeted me just fine and even a few players said hello to me. It was nice, and their friendliness earned them 7/10.
Last thing on my list is fun. It's actually quite fun: They have a Creative world, Survival, and an awful lot of other minigames and modes to play on. The Owner even took me around the Creative World and showed me around! This earns the server another 7/10.
22/30 is a great achievement for a new server and they should be proud of that!
