This blog is about reporting things properly!
Here's how it's done!
Basically, this is what you do!
1. Find a submission breaching PMC rules!
2. Press the red flag under the heart!
3. Fill in the form!
4. Wait!
Why should I report things?
Well it keeps the standards of PMC high so everyone can have an enjoyable time! It also helps you become a moderator! So it's just good for the community!
Types of reports:
When you report something, you will see these catagories:
Mistake
Spam
Inappropriate
Duplicate
Unoriginal
Incomplete
Update Log Abuse
Illegal
Remixed Content
Contest Disqualification
Mistake:
A mistake is like a mod in the texture pack section!
This can be used on ALL submissions!
Just report it and wait!
Spam:
Spam is just posting things so you can get lots of XP
This can be used on ALL submissions!
Report it with the amount of copies you know/estimate there is!
Inappropriate:
This is stuff that is not suitable for all ages or is adult content/porn!
This can be used on ALL submissions (includes Hitler, Pedobear in skins)!
Report it and wait! If it is adult content/porn, go to chat and whisper to a forum mod, site mod, super mod or Cyprezz immediately! If none are on, find an active mod on the forums!
Duplicate:
This is when the user submitted 2 of the same thing to gain more XP!
This can be used on ALL submissions!
Report it and wait!
Unoriginal:
This is when someone uploaded something that is not theirs without permission!
This can be used on ALL submissions!
Report it with a link to the original! For servers, go tell a staff member to change the MOTD to <Server owner's username>'s Server. When reporting, type in requires MOTD verification and nothing else (unless requires more characters)
Incomplete:
This is when a submission is not complete enough to be on PMC!
This applies for mods, skins and especially texture packs!
Report it and wait!
Update Log Abuse:
This is when people don't use the update log properly ie. Hello there or something like that in the update log!
This applies for ALL submissions!
Report it and wait!
Illegal:
This is when someone uploads free games (including minecraft) to PMC, or anything else that is illegal!
This applies for ALL submissions, especially mods!
Report it, go to chat and find an appropriate moderator and whisper to them! Otherwise find a mod online in the forums IMMEDIATELY!
Remixed Content:
This is when someone gets other peoples work and puts it into theirs! This includes default parts from Skincraft etc.
This apples for ALL submissions, especially blogs and texure packs!
Report it, leave a link to as much unoriginal content as possible!
Contest Disqualification:
This applies for ALL contest entries!
This is when you want to apply for disqualification. So basically if they breach any of the contests rules, report with this!
Report and wait!
What if there already is a red flag?
Don't report it! It will just annoy the mods, plus 2 reports don't get the submission checked any faster! If you believe there is more info to it than you think the original reporter put in, report it again with that info!
What if I'm on the forums?
Same thing!
What if I'm on chat?
Press the flag on the message that breaches the rules!
If they do anything bad again, don't report them because when you report one thing, all of the members messages goes to the chat mods! If they are in the lobby discussing servers, tell them to go to server hall first! If they ignore you and keep talking about servers, report them!
