Hello guys,
Today I continued my survival, where I'm now allowed to break blocks. Only this time my pride got in my way...
Day 5 - way too fucking long...
The previous time I was able to obtain an iron sword, which I was able to show off with in my heroic act of saving the village. Sadly I have no further tools yet, but you surely don't think I'm going a step back in the ladder we call evolution?! I'm not going to use some tools of wood, nor will stone do me any good. I'm looking for something superior, something shiny, something that I can show off with... Diamonds of course! So the challenge will be, "obtain diamonds...". This wouldn't be very hard, if only I had some tools already, but: "... I'm not able to use any tools, before I've obtained them". This is gonna be an adventure, but at least I wouldn't be walking around with poor quality tools... ugh. To obtain diamonds, there are several ways I can approach this. First, I can mine them... only if I had a tool to do so... Ahh! I could use TNT. Second, I can also find them in villages, jungle temples, shipwrecks, burried treasures, etc.
Method 1:
The first night I have been battling the confetti monsters to gain some GUNpowder! So after almost dying 3 times to baby zombies that ran like Usain Bolt, I was able to craft a whopping 1 TNT. In theory this would be enough, if only the TNT didn't have A 75% chance of destroying the diamond... That would mean that I need some more TNT if I'm not lucky... Additionally, the only way for me to ignite the TNT would be to use lava, which also has a change of vanishing the diamond (if it drops). In conclusion, that sucks.
Method 2:
Structures, what would we do without them? They surely have some diamonds! Now I only have to find one of those, "how hard can it be", you would say right? (Well hard apparently) So to prepare for my journey I found a friend, my little white horse called "Cumbra" with whom I spend most of my nights lately. Apparently it upset her when I wiped out her whole family in front of her eyes. Anyways, the journey started with exploring the jungle as it was closest to the village. Let me tell you something, this probably was one of the worst ideas I had... eventhough I'm like a vending machine for bad ideas; after tossing one in for an idea, you hope for short-term memory loss. Btw, you can see me being stuck in the jungle on the picture above. After spending multiple days looking for something that could even represent a jungle temple, I finally found it... A village of course!
I barged into the village, quickly stole everything they pocessed and killed their only form of protection to obtain some iron. After that I was like "newh, this ain't working" and left the village to rot away in the dark; since I also stole all their torches... Oops. Luckily for me, there was an open ocean just in front of me and I knew just what I had to do. I made myself a boat and continued the journey, preparing myself for a sweet treasure... 3 shipwrecks (14.1% diamonds), 3 ruined potals and 2 buried treasures (59.9% diamonds)... What did I get you might ask, well no diamonds atleast. I did get myself some gold tools that could come in handy and a ton of other loot, but this is not where I signed up for. It had already been 3...4? maybe even 5 days. Only for me to find everything I wasn't looking for. I must say that Minecraft probably wanted me to continue with Method 1 again, after giving me like 5 extra TNT-blocks, but I felt defeated. I swallowed my pride and went home... with the painfully annoying horse through the jungle again, what a journey.

My pride may have been in the way of actually progressing any further. I think that I have to admit I failed this challenge, such that I may humbly continue this adventure... Maybe I should start with the basics, next time ;) (foreshadowing?)
