Hello guys,
After the disappointing search for diamonds last time, I've been humbled and I have learned to appreciate the little things in life... by returning to the basics! And I mean basics, basics... as in Cavemen basics. So this time I'll be outliving the stone age underground! The aim will thus be to obtain a full set of iron armor and a complete set of iron tools/weapons.
Day 11 - Who knows for how long, I haven't seen light for days
I left my home almost empty handed, nothing more than a wooden sword, a little wood and some raw meat. I didn't have to travel for long, as only a hundred blocks away there was cosy cave for me to inhabit; which you can see in the picture. Shortly after, the blood of my ancestors started to run through my veins as I was mining the first stone, I didn't have to rely solely on wood anymore! Just that quickly I evolved to the stone age, where I upgraded all my tools to stone. Only the next step would actually be challenging to achieve, as full Iron gear is no joke.
When I continued my way into the cave, I realised that it was actually an immense dripstone cave! This was by the way, the only moment I was enthousiastic about discovering it... the rest of my time down there it went something like this: "aahhh, you f*cking pointy bastard", whenever I fel down a block or two onto a dripstone; As if you were to walk on LEGO pieces, where you could feel every corner to your core when stepping on it. Let alone the parcour that was necessary to manouvre through the floor full of spikes; making me feel like a balloon in Bloons Tower Defence. After being penetrated more than I would normally be, I encountered an underground lake, where I encountered my first Iron. Not long after, I found some lapis lazuli for which I needed an Iron pick axe. So on my way to the surface of the water, I ended up in a battle of life or death... A skeleton joined me in the water a few blocks away and started shooting at me. I bravely went to fight with him and I had my chances, if only he wasn't a master of deception. When striking him on the head, he pulled a special maneuver under water... He went for a little session of scuba diving, where he would stand below me and I was not able to block his attacks... I died once again.
After this defeat, I surely got my revenge, after safely spawning in my warm bed again. So I decided to dedicade my first iron to a pick axe and a chest plate, making me feel a little safer. After this my journey wasn't interupted anymore, perhaps due to my new gained status in the underworld that radiated dominance; As I witnessed a skeleton commit suicide upon seeing me, scared to death... literally. When I reached the lower altitude, the treasure gods were finally on my side. Not only did I find an abundance of Iron, Gold, Lapis or Redstone... I was also blessed with the finding of Diamonds and not one, or two... no, I obtained the significant amount of 19 diamonds! After this yield, I was sure I would have redeemed myself. Not only did I obtain enough iron to get myself a full set of armor and tools, but also the other riches of the earth I had been craving for! It was time for me to resurface and show my face to the village, that of a changed man... ready for a new adventure.

(YOu didn't want to use leather armor? [Kind of stoneagey if one igmores some of the look…])
