A simple pot dinner. Even for non advanced/primitiver kitchen owners.
We need:
- 2-3 bags Rice - in my case it was brown in a bag>, you can also use grains
- 1-2 Bell Pepper - the long non chili one is also acceptable
- Cuccini
- Corn - canned
- Peas - canned
- Spices - adjust it to your tastes
- Vegetable Oil
- Other addons you would like to have(vegetables, fruit or even sauce)
- Cooking Tools, such as Pot, Pan and spoon
Steps:
1. Get a pot, fill it with water and put rice. Cook the rice until it is soft*. Many rice boxes have a timer info for how long(15 mins more-less). Don't forget to stir to not burn it**
2. In that time, clean under water and cut the vegies and fruit. Stripes or blockies, what you want
3. Check the rice if it is done and if it is, put it away and let it cool.
4. Take the pan and place on the stove. Add some oil and let it get warm.
5. Place the cuccini on the pan and let it cook. Mix the veg to not burn the stuff. If it is soft, cooked, put pepper. Later if they are good, put the canned stuff. In case of burning, add some oil.
6. At the end add rice and cook it for some minutes. Remember to close the pan
7. Turn off the stove. Let the pan cool and the aromas connect inside of it.
8. Get yourself a plate/bowl and enjoy your meal.
9. If you finished your dinner, put the remaining food in a box and to the fridge for later
Good luck :)
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
*If you cook something, you need to be present in case of problems(burning, the water going out)
**If you burnt the pot, take it away to cool down(the pot can be hot!!). Later fill it with water and let the burnt rests get soaked over some hours. Later try to scrub it. You could also ask your parent/guardian for advice/help
***To prevent the cooking water from escaping, put a spoon above the water, let it lie on the pot. It should reduce the risk
****If you burnt yourself, quickly go under running water(NO ICE, NO FREEZING) and keep it until the pain lowers and you feel okay. Additonally, use a cream with aloes or get yourself a special burns gel in case. Freezing water can worsen the wound
*****If you struggle, you can always ask someone for help. Cooking together is also good :)
