Chapter 3
Elise was sat on the train, there was no sign of Taka. She breathed deeply she was still recovering from last nights events; a Soulless a monster born from sorrow cursed to hunt down humans, Taka a boy with a mark that gave him magic and the fact he has to hunt them down else the mark burns him. She stood up and left the train as it reached her stop, going along with the group of school kids she kept a look out for Taka's crimson hair, when she had reached class and it had began there was still no sign of him. During lunch she went back to the garden she had found before and sat back under the gazebo, she had put the time her break ended in her phone so that she would know when to leave. She heard footsteps and turned to see a girl with short grey hair and grey eyes, she wore the same uniform as Elise so she was a student.

"Hey there what ya doing?" The girl asked,

"Just having lunch, you?" She replied, the girl said that she was looking for her brother. With that a laugh emanated from a nearby bush and a boy that looked just like the girl appeared from it,

"Hey sis how you doing?" he laughed, the girl ran over and punched him in the head and began yelling at him for leaving her when the teacher was having a go at her. He apologised and then turned to Elise,

"And who are you?" he asked, Elise introduced herself and so did they; the boy was Saito Lenos and his sister was Maya they were identical twins. They decided to hang out with Elise for lunch and at the end Elise found out that Saito was in her class, he greeted her and told her that he and Maya sometimes swapped classes for fun as the teachers never noticed them.

"That sounds like fun but what if you get caught?" Elise asked,

"We don't even if we did then we could easily confuse the teachers that one of the perks of being a twin even if we are brother and sister." he replied, the door then opened and Taka walked in he walked straight to his desk and sat down. Elise walked over to see what was wrong and she saw blood dripping from his head,

"Don't say anything, it was a Soulless and a strong one and more are around my mark is burning seriously." he quickly said before he blacked out, Elise caught him and Saito ran over to help her carry him to the nurse. She bandaged his head and put an ice pack on his forehead to calm him down, Saito apologised to Elise and said he had to go. She watched him leave and then turned to Taka, she pulled the curtain round his bed and checked his mark, it was glowing and seemed to be causing him immense pain. She sat on a nearby chair and slowly drifted into sleep.

"Elise wake up now." Taka said to her, Elise woke up and saw that Taka was carrying her and they were in the school library,

"What's going on?",

"Soulless a lot of them as well.", Elise froze and Taka let her go, he told her that he was too weak to use most of his power. They left the library and saw one of the Soulless walking down the hall, they sneaked away and headed downstairs where they ran straight into a much larger one with an axe in hand, it let out a deafening roar which brought all the others to it. The roof above them caved in as three more Soulless crashed through it, Taka launched some flames but they did nothing. He and Elise both ran but one of the monsters cut them off and split them up. Elise ran outside and went to the gym trying to find a hiding place, the fastest Soulless followed her and she crawled under a box, it began sniffing looking for her. As it got closer Elise began crying again.

Taka had been caught and was dodging blows and making sure that he was not grabbed,

"Damn .. fuck off already." he yelled as he flipped over one of the monsters arms, he was met by another which went to crush him with its' mace. Taka accepted his death and closed his eyes. He then heard the monster growl as something hit it, he opened his eyes and saw a large rock on top of the one that was going to kill him, it pushed the rock off and stood back up. A boy in a long coat with a mask on walked forward; he carried a sword and a shield and on his hand was a mark it glowed brightly and Taka knew he was like him.

"No dying today, your too important to someone even if you both don't know it." The boy said, Taka nodded and stood up the boy passed him a bottle and told him to drink it. Taka did so and his strength returned, he smiled and summoned his longsword and joined his new ally as he charged forward. Elise had heard the monster leave and slowly crawled out of her hiding place, she looked round and let out a sigh of relief.

"Hey you should always check behind you girly." A voice growled she turned and saw the Soulless, it held a katana and wore nothing but a loincloth. Elise turned and ran but it jumped in front of her, it swung but an arrow whizzed past and struck it in the chest it span round and looked to where it came from, all it saw was a large icicle which slammed into it and sent it flying. A girl then jumped down next to Elise, she held a bow and the air around her crystallised into small ice pieces. She also wore a mask and on her neck was a mark it was an icicle with a bow behind it, unlike Takas it looked like it was frozen to her.

"I think you could use some help huh." She said

"Help I can't even fight it." Elise replied

"Hmmm but you oh you haven't got yours yet well I can fix that." the girl said as she grabbed Elise's hand and pulled her forward and kissed her, Elise was shocked and stepped back asking why she did that, the girl simply smiled and Elise then felt a pain in her thigh she moved her skirt and watched as as a dagger appeared on her leg surrounded by what appeared to be clouds. She was shocked and the girl then told her to focus and call forth her weapon, Elise did so and a dagger appeared in both of her hands. The girl told her that now she can fight, Elise turned and ran at the Soulless and jumped it as it swung at her, she felt lighter and gathered that her powers involved wind and air as she felt as though wind was constantly blowing around her. She focused some energy into her blades and swung sending a wave of air that sliced the monster in two, she was surprised but happy. Another then jumped in through a window and she saw that her daggers had connectors at the hilt and she formed them into a dual blade and went to fight the next as her new team mate peppered it with arrows.

Taka breathed heavily he and the boy had fought long and hard and now all the Soulless were dead, he had seen that the boy used earth magic and fought as a guardian to his allies.

"Good work and see ya." The boy said as he ran out of the building, Taka left and searched for Elise, he found her in the gym collapsed on the floor. He picked her up and decided that she could stay at his for the night. He saw her mark and was shocked,

"Like me huh maybe I won't be alone after all huh dad." he quietly said as he walked away.
