A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.

Stereotypes. You'd have to admit that sometimes we don't really think of a stereotype as an insult. Well, it is. You don't mean it to be but it is. You just have an image of something and if you see a person or thing that matches the discription of that thing you you just put it into that group/catagory. For example, if you were to see a blonde girl, you would think she isn't really smart. Or if you see somebody with glasses and braces, you'd think they're a nerd. Stereotypes can define someone/something as what they appear to be like. I don't really understand this... Just because you act or do things in a certain way, doesn't  mean you are like that.

I've always thought that the whole blonde girl thing (although quite stupid) referred to bleach-blondes. Not that that makes the jokes and stuff okay I'm just sayin'.
