This is an open blog talking about storyline ideas in a movie I'm making. Highlight your ideas in yellow and when you have come up with you final design over time, highlight your post in red. Here's an example:

I was thinking of an action type story with a lot of explosions and bad guys that have their own evil minions. The reason the bad guy wants to blow up stuff is because he was raised by creepers. The good guys are trying to capture him to find out why creepers like to blow up.
Example 2:
I want there to be a big city based around the 1500s in Japan with a big port and many wooden buildings. The bad guy, Oda Nobunaga, is leading his army of rebels into the city to take over. They are carrying bows along with flaming arrows, some are on black and red pigs.They are met with a mighty force of Samurai wielding grand swords that were crafted by the best artisans in the country. This will be a great battle because the Oda clan is far outnumbered by the rebels. The chosen one, a poor peasant that snuck into the army, rises to rally the remaining forces and strategize a plan that will send the rebels running.
I will be monitoring and giving feedback during this blog but I will not contribute because I want to hear what the general population would like to see in this film.

A guy called Steve wakes up in a strange, blocky world. He walks around and realizes he can use his inventory by thinking of the letter 'E'. He then decides to punch some trees and collects wood in doing so. He makes wooden planks, and then a crafting table and a wooden pickaxe.
Steve finds a cave with lots of stone in it so he uses his pickaxe to get stone until it breaks. He uses the stone to make a full set of stone tools and a furnace. He spends the whole day wandering around and kills a few pigs for food and then walks back to the spawn point when the sun begins to set.
He decides to make a house for the night, but before he finishes a strange shrubby creature comes along and explodes, almost killing him. Suddenly, skeletons shoot him and zombies chase him. He runs off a cliff and then quickly tunnels into a mountain with half a heart left.
The next morning, Steve walks out and finds another person who looks like a big person-shaped block of TNT. Thinking the person is going to explode, he runs for it but the person, who is ExplodingTNT, shouts at him to stop.
ExplodingTNT and Steve converse their confusions, and then ExplodingTNT realizes Steve is a new 'player' and needs some help. He explains that this world is Minecraftia, a blocky place and that Steve is a player of this world along with many other people. Notch created the world, but he lives far away in the Mojang AB offices. He takes him to the city that him, CaptainSparklez, SkyDoesMinecraft, Lewis and Simon and many other Minecraftians live. Steve meets all these people. CaptainSparklez is the mayor of the city. He gives him iron armour and a diamond sword.
The next night, people see strange sightings of black humanoid creatures with purple eyes. They are neutral, but if you stare at them or attack them they kill you fast. The next morning, many people are missing. CaptainSparklez explains that people have been going missing for ages now and this is not the first night with these strange creatures. These are officially named 'Endermen' as people think they may be a sign of the end of the world.
ExplodingTNT, Steve, CaptainSparklez and SkyDoesMinecraft decide to go on a great diamond mine. They find many diamonds and altogether they all almost get full sets of diamond armour. Then Sky falls into lava and dies. Steve is like 'nooooooooooo' but ExplodingTNT explains that people can respawn in Minecraftia, and the only price of dying is losing your stuff. Since Sky has a bed, he respawns in the city. This does not stop him from being angry that all his stuff is lost. They end up having to split their diamonds but they still get quite a bit of diamond armour each.
The next night, many people go missing again. The city's population is now half of what it was before endermen started appearing. In the morning, CaptainSparklex shows Sky, TNT and Steve his newest invention: the nether portal! Steve jumps in before Sparklez can explain that the nether is dangerous and they end up having to jump after him.
Steve spawns in a nether fortress. Sparklez urges him to come back, but Steve defiantly decides to carry on exploring. He accidentally attacks a zombie pigman and is mauled by them. He is then thrown off the fortress by a ghast and falls into lava.
Since he didn't have a bed, Steve respawns back at the spawn point. He ends up having to walk back to the city and arrives just before the endermen come back.
Yet again, more people go missing. Sparklez calls for it to stop, so Steve gets some spare stuff and him, TNT, Sparklez and Sky adventure into the nether. They kill these creatures called blazes and collect 6 blaze rods. They turn this into blaze powder. They then go back to the normal world just before night. Sparklez orders them to kill the endermen. They kill 12 endermen, and only 2 people go missing. From the endermen they get ender pearls They mix the ender pearls with blaze powder and create eyes of ender.
Sparklez has a vision the next day. In another world called The End, the enderdragon roams. He is the culprit of the enderman plot. He is turning people into endermen and forcing the endermen to do the same. The only way to get to The End is by finding a stronghold using the eyes of ender. They then must place the eyes of ender in the portal found in the stronghold to get to The End. Steve is the prophesised one to defeat the Enderdragon, but when he enters the End exit portal, which forms when the enderdragon dies, he will die. Permanently.
Sparklez has a talk with ExplodingTNT and Sky. They decide they will tell Steve that they must use him to defeat the Enderdragon.
Steve is angry at first and lashes out, but he soon realizes it is for the greater good. Before setting of for The End though, they do some serious training and get some good weapons and armour.
About a month after the vision, they set off for The End, they find the stronghold after three days of walking and enter the portal room. They enter The End.
In The End, the dragon flies in the sky and endermen roam the land. Steve trys to kill the dragon, but the dragon heals using the ender crystals on top of huge obisidan pillars. The four set off to destroy these crystals. Sky gets to the top of one but is unfortunately knocked off by the dragon and he dies. With three left, they destroy the remaining crystals and start attacking the dragon.
They get the dragon down to half of its health left. Steve realizes he can see a health bar of the dragon. It is about half. Then, ExplodingTNT is killed by the dragon.
Now with only Sparklez and Steve left, they try to get the dragon's health to zero. It goes to about an eighth left after ages and then Sparklez is killed by the dragon.
With just Steve left, he realizes he must not fail like the other three. He shoots the dragon and slashes it when it flies low until it finally dies. It crackes up and explodes, dropping a shower of xp. A bedrock portal forms. Steve gets ready for death, takes a deep breath and jumps in.
Steve views two people's thoughts, much like the Minecraft credits. The people tell him that he has done well and that in fact Minecraft is all a dream. He can carry on to the next dream (in other words returning to Minecraftia) or leave Minecraftia. However, if he chooses the latter option he can never return to Minecraftia, as he is not at a level high enough where you can do so. Steve decides to return to Minecraftia for another adventure.
Steve arrives at his spawn point (which is now his bed in his house) and everybody cheers that the enderdragon is over. The city celebrates with a big firework explosion. The endermen are gone. However, mobs like creepers may not be gone...
One night, a villager goes missing from his home. The town guard are sent to investigate, and are trying to when they get another report of a missing person. This continues until around half the village is missing.
The town guard, spread thin because of some missing personnel, have to delegate the task of finding the missing individuals to a few people.
The story is basically about a few guards -- and civilians, as well -- who have to travel through biomes and chunks to find out exactly who (or what) has been taking the citizens of the town. Along the way, they make friends and enemies, explore lost ruins, experience cataclysmic events, and find out that not only is it near-impossible to find the missing people, it is also incredibly difficult just to survive!
I thought that the story could take place in medieval times, thus giving reason for there to be bows and swords and the like.
