She knew she’d never be perfect, and that she’d never fit in. She was different and she was proud. The only thing she wished she could change was other people. She knows that’s impossible, but when you really think about it, who ever thinks about themselves being the bad one? She’s changed herself before, but she still never seemed quite the same as the rest. Was she all alone in this world? Or had she yet to find the person she’d been searching for. On the first day of school in 4th grade, she didn’t know anyone. She had just moved from where she had lived for 8 years, but never seemed to have any friends. After the year ended, she had made a few friends, and caught up with most of them during the beginning of 7th grade, and the new ones she had made along the way. She had just gotten over a “breakup” with her “boyfriend”. She wasn’t quite old enough to actually date, but she ended up liking a guy she was never really interested in. She learned her lesson, but she never really thought about the guy that she had secretly liked. She knew there was something there, but she never thought anything of it... until she saw him at her school. As the year went on, they noticed each other, and she often thought about what might happen at one point. She was tearing herself apart. They never talked to one another, only looked. It was odd, but in a way, it was nice. They had exchanged the words ‘thank you’ ‘you’re welcome’ and ‘I’m sorry’ through the time, but they never actually had a conversation. This went on and on, and on, and she had been trying to talk to him, but he was either never there anyway, or she was too red to the face to talk. Half of her friends were pushing her to talk to him, some had given up on her a long time ago, and some felt empathy for what she was going through. She had never felt like this before, and often questioned if she really liked him, but as soon as he was in her line of sight, she’d forget all about her questions and focus completely on him. They both shared many characteristics, which is probably why she was drawn to him. They acted alike and had many of the same problems. After she finally got the courage to put a note with her phone number in his locker, he gave the number to his friend, and he texted her and told her he had a girlfriend. After tearing herself apart, there was no one left there to help put her back together. After all that, people started to lose trust in her. She did things and she didn't know why. Everyone left her because she was worthless. She was broken and didn't know how to fix herself. Will she stay broken, or will someone come along to fix her?
