STARTING OFF
- Rubber are your first priorities. But before you try and find some, you should make a shelter.
- If you don't want to go far for rubber, do not make a house in a jungle or a snowy tundra (rubber trees are much more common in forest biomes).
- unless you find rubber before making a shelter, make sure to prepare for your journey: sometimes finding rubber can be a pain in the butt! bring food, a sword, armor if you have any, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, bring a treetap (http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Treetap). A treetap is used to extracted sticky resin. sticky resin is used to make rubber.
- When you find a rubber tree make sure to get a sapling from it! You should definitely farm your own resin by planting a few saplings.
- I suggest not smelting a lot of resin until you get an iron furnace (http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Iron_Furnace) . Iron furnaces smelt 10 items per coal/charcoal where normal furnaces cook only 8. not that much of a difference but in tekkit every coal counts!
- After you have your rubber you need ores. go mine some ores! when you have iron, only smelt a bit. you should only smelt as much as you need. when you can, make a generator(http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Generator).
- Generators provide EU when you put in fuel to burn. you need copper cable (http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Copper_Cable). you also should have a batbox (http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/BatBox). A batbox stores EU so that EU generated in the generator doesn't get wasted when the machines are full. EU powers machines in industrialcraft.
- When you have your generator set up, make a macerator (http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Macerator).
- Macerators crunch up ores. when you macerate them, you get 2 dust per ore. Smelting dusts will get you the ingot of the ore that got crunched, Thus you get twice the amount of ingots!
HELPFUL THINGIES
- When "tapping" a rubber tree, use the treetap on the weird orangey splotches on the trunk. most people i've played tekkit with don't know that you can right click a splotch several times and get resin several times.
- You can make an electric furnace with your iron furnace when you have your generator up and running. the electric furnace wastes no fuel because it shuts off immediately after it finishes smelting. it also smelts faster than an iron furnace and can be upgraded.
- Generators waste a lot of coal so you only want to use it while getting started, but you should still have it connected to your power grid, it is a good "emergency" power source. The best mid game power source is solar.
- Make sure to connect your generator to your batbox, and then connect your machines to the batbox, but not to the generator.
- A wrench (http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Wrench_(IndustrialCraft)) is an important tool in Tekkit. to make one, mix tin and copper dust to make bronze dust. smelting that will give you bronze ingots. use a wrench on the batbox to change where the output slot is. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! the Output slot (the side of a batbox that has the circle) is the only side of the batbox that the EU stored will be released from. every blank side of the batbox is input, so connected wires ill transfer EU to it.
