This is the first post of the blog idea I had, sort of like a weekly (or maybe daily someday?) paper that lists news on PMC, such as popular projects, the types of Texture packs that is becoming popular, the best little known servers and advice.

Since this is my first post I hardly expect perfection, but I am hoping one day this will get popular and I can get much better at reviewing projects, TP, etc, and start getting low key amazing projects a lot of attention!

The main function of this blog will be to shed some light on parts of PMC that aren't really seen unless you look closely enough.

Popular this Week
Once again floating projects are taking the lead in popularity. This is so common that making a floating project and using certain shaders for the pictures is nearly a sure way to gain Pop Reel. Along with that, projects built mainly a dirt (a newly created thing) are gaining in momentum. After AlecDent (http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/alecdent/) Submitted a project made of almost only dirt call "Dent does Dirt". A week later, Gassy (http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/gassy/) released Minecraft: Revenge of the Dirt! (also nearly only made of dirt) which quickly became popular.

In TexturePack news, the Pop Reel is becoming more and more movie/game oriented (meaning they are made after a movie or different game) such as a new resident evil texturepack, one made by catchymanjoel called Catchy Lego Texture Pack (http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/catchy-lego-texture-pack/), and one GameBoy User InterFace, made by NoxCrew (http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/gameboy-user-interface/).

The Skins remain as boring as ever, with mainly girls with long hair covering one or more eyes (lol), and guys in hoodies with Justin Bieber haircut with headphones on. However, my favorite one I found was Steve with short moustache, by dima91life (http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/steve-with-short-moustaches/). This is a hilarious skin of the default skin Steve with a mustache. His clothing is changed slightly, making them more pleasing to the eyes. Also his eyes are purple (Not sure why).

PROJECT Of the Week

My favorite of this week would have to be Cardinal's Peak, an amazingly creative project by Tou_kaze (http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/cardinals-peak/).

Instead of the general grassy floating ROCKS that most floating islands are, these are sandy spheres and smoothed shapes around an odd server spawn.

To me it looks like a haunted house from an animated movie!

Whitefall - The Dwarven Capital

Whitefall: Skyrim?

This is an interesting project about a much loved subject: Underground Dwarven cities.
I am sure i saying that all of us LOVE underground cities, especially if lava or fire is involved. This well built city includes not only the inside caves and tunnels, but also a city on the surface. It is built by jack53519 (http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/whitefall---the-dwarven-capital-we-need-builders/).

A Popular Terraforming Tool?

logopng

WorldPainter is a useful terraforming tool for minecraft. Use different brushes and tools to 'paint' a world and then render it into minecraft!

Then once rendered you are free to build whatever you want! This is mainly used for custom terrains, instead of having to build with the finicky, boring landscape of minecraft vanilla, you can just create the perfect spot for your city with a couple clicks of a button. The tools range from just painting the landscape, to raising mountains, pyramids, to painting beachs and snowy caps.

Thanks for reading my first PMC NEWS post! I spent a long time research, and I am starting research and planning for next week, which will include mods and servers too!
