Hi Person.
Creepers love to have a blast, but that's not really a good thing is it now?
In this blog I shall cover:
-Tips for surviving in Minecraft
-How not to survive in Minecraft
Have you ever struggled to survive in Minecraft? Are you one of those people who start Minecraft and go straight for shelter or straight for food? Well I'm not very good at survival myself... if at all, but I shall share my experiences in how I failed and my mistakes, and how you can possibly learn from them... and possibly laugh for a while.
When starting, a cave is better than a dirt house on so many levels. Especially if you're in multiplayer survival. Make sure you have the basics:
-Food
-Light
-and shelter
Not tonnes and tonnes and TONNES of wood, yes, deforestation is a very fun thing to do and you will need a lot of wood but get food and light first, while you can. If you cannot find an animal to punch to death(this game is very violent), then try growing some plants, grab some seeds from destroying grass, you know... it's like Zelda except without the Gems and just seeds.
Next on the list is light, when I say light I don't mean find Obsidian, build a nether portal, goto the Nether, mine glowstone etc. all in one night, I mean find Coal. Coal is easy to find if you know how to look for it and if it starts to get dark, either embrace death or start mining some Cobble and make a furnace. Charcoal can be made when you put Wood into a furnace, it's just as good as Coal, but it won't stack with it. Use the Charcoal to make torches so that you don't get attacked in your house.
Now for Shelter! This is what you don't really want:
Yes it looks very beautiful, but it's not ideal. The first problem is it can be removed very quickly by a bypasser on a server, the second problem is that it's pretty much in the open and the third and final problem... it's a dirt house. If they don't destroy it, odds are your name will become "noob" on the server. So what does an ideal first house look like? Well if you're in single player, a wood block is acceptable, just be careful of lava and in the off chance that thunder strikes your building. Cobble is an okay material, it's a step up from dirt but possibly the cheapest but coolest material would be Stone or stone bricks. I can't tell you how to make your house block by block because this is Minecraft(not SPARTA!!!) and you have your own creativity, but here is what you can aim for if you're really stuck:
So now that I've very briefly and unprofessionally shown you how to start off in Minecraft, I will now tell you a Minecraft story or two, just for the sake of entertainment.
Story 1: The Skeleton moving squad
So yes, this is a story of when I was mostly done building my house, I had achieved full Iron armour and tools and the house I had made was just amazing! It was a beautiful wooden box... I had ventured out to grab some wood, until it started to get a little bit dark. All I had on me was my Iron axe and heeps of wood, I was a little scared at first, very far away from home, but as I approached my house I felt relieved that I made it unharmed, until there was about 5 Skeletons outside my door! I was shot multiple times and sadly I didn't spawn back into my house, no I had to walk there AGAIN, it wasn't too far, just a chunk or so away but when I got back they were still there, not burning in the dayligth either. I had a roof like thing over my door as decoration... oh I hate that bit of decoaration now, after 5 attempts to get all my stuff and being shot A LOT... I gave up and moved house because... I don't like Skeletons.
Just as a follow up on that, I did eventually take my house back from them, they had eventually despawned but this was before I knew they would do that.
Story 2: Lava moat
Yes, to those who have read Charlizard's blog, I have also had my history with fire and Lava. I built a lava moat around a wooden house because well WHAT IS MORE AWESOME THAN LAVA! Yeah it was the most awesome thing I have ever done and I cannot beat it. But well the lava moat burntt down my house... and it burnt down the bridges I made. Furthermore, I hadn't much building material that wasn't wood so I spent a bit mining out dirt and praying for dear life I wouldn't fall into the lava by accidentally letting go of shit(which I did twice). But yeah, apart from all the swears and the stress of that house, I eventually made it out of cobble instead.

In other small news, I am close to finishing my new Parkour map. (Piggy Parkour V2, it's taking FOREVER)
Also I hope you had a wonderful read, a comment is much appreciated, even if it's just letting me know you liked the read. Any criticism will be welcomed and any grammatical errors... just tell me and I should be able to fix them.
