I left my hometown on this solo expedition to the 'New World' against the wishes of my parents. I packed lightly for I wished not to be encumbered. A simple backpack to carry vital supplies: Water, food, my camera, many extra rolls of film, and ink to develop my photographs. The purchase of the vessel I would be using would cost me my entire life savings. This had the rather unfortunate consequence of black ink being the only ink I could afford. Of course, this meant that I would be required to become self-sufficient during this journey of mine. I had no concerns regarding this situation as I have always been something of an independent lady.
After some months spent planning and preparing, it was finally time to depart on my journey. The closest to a farewell my parents would get from me was a simple note I left on the dining room table saying that I had left on my journey and that I would likely not be returning. I didn't wish for a painful departing of words as I knew my father would not be very happy... nor my mother for that matter.
It took many weeks of sailing through open ocean before I found the New World. I sailed along the coast, searching for an inlet to make landfall. Somewhere I wouldn't mind leaving the vessel I called home for these past weeks behind. I did eventually find a rather beautiful location to leave it. I attach here, below this paragraph, a developed photograph of my boat in its final resting place.
Turning away from my boat now, I look inland. My lack of coloured ink makes it hard to portray its beauty, but believe me when I say that it was beautiful. This journal is not one of scientific discovery, but one of observations belonging to that of a photographer exploring new lands on her own.
Alas, the 3 colours of ink I will require to start developing coloured photographs will be a challenge. Cyan, yellow, and magenta. It seems I may be required to do some research on local plantlife to discover sources of these 3 colours of ink. However, I think my first task should be to find shelter. I intend to stay in the area for a short while. The sun is high in the sky right now, so I shall leave this journal entry here.
Author's Notes: I am writing this story using a modpack that I have made myself and will be playing in Creative Mode since doing all of this in survival would just take far too long, and I don't have the time to commit to such a task. Real life has its priorities, after all. Expect Chapter 1 to be posted next week, give or take a day or two.
