In the years before the war, Dawnguard was a growing Kingdom with a strong and formidable army. Their King, Jacobi, was young and new to the throne. As his power grew, so did his ambition. Their army was backed by a strong alliance with the Dwarven Kingdoms, a loose confederacy of cave dwelling mountain folk that possessed a form of dark and mysterious technology within their deeply fortified Dwarven keeps. The King of Dawnguard began to set his eyes upon the thrones of Dolmite and the lands of many of the surrounding Kingdoms, however Father Dolmite held a strong position and had the numbers to defend his lands which kept Jacobi at bay. As the harsh winters of the year 470 AD set in, nomadic peoples and barbarian tribes began to invade the mountain valleys and steppes of Dawnguard and the Dwarven Kingdoms. At first, they met these invaders with swords and shields in deep opposition. But seeing as they were highly skilled fighters, even lacking proper armor and weapons like those forged in the Dwarven keeps; the Dawnguard King allied himself with the nomads and barbarians and offered them gold and food if they would fight in his armies. Now having the numbers to defeat the Dolmitians, Jacobi and his allies began preparations for battles.

Hearing rumors of this massive mountain-man army, the King of Dolmite quickly sent emissaries to all of his Lords and vassals, as well as neighboring Kingdoms and potential allies. Those notable that responded were Lord George, and his older brother Paul I, as well as Lord Thomas, and the Warrior King of Rohguard. In the year 471 AD the allies of Dolmite formed the Diamond Council in which the leaders of the alliance convened and declared total war on Dawnguard and their allies.

Soon after the war began the King of Rohguard, Robert the Feared, began pursuit of the Dwarven armies. Being mountain-dwelling people themselves and fast on foot, the Rohguard were able to outpace the Dwarves' and set several ambushes and hammer-and-anvil style attacks for them along the campaign trail. Although they did not succeed in defeating their entire army in an open battle, they continued to push through the mountains, looting, and destroying every Dwarven town, outpost, and fortress they came across. Eventually pushing the main Dwarven back to their stronghold at Kog Boram, the Rohguard army was eventually able to surround them and starve them out, for weeks while setting a series of dams along the valley walls to stop their water supply from reaching the Dwarven keep. When the Dwarves finally emerged for battle, the King of Rohguard let them approach as far as possible before releasing all the dams at once and releasing volleys of arrow fire onto the army. The Dwarves either drowned under the weight of their heavy armor or dropped their armor to swim and were pelted with arrow fire. Those that survived were enslaved and forced to watch their keeps be destroyed by heavy catapults.

On the other front of the battle:

Knowing that Jacobi would surely succeed in ambushing them within his mountain territories, the allies forced the Dawnguardians and barbarian tribes into an all-out open pitch battle in the fields and forest far below the mountain peaks and outside their home territory. Although slightly outnumbered, the well disciplined and motivated armies of Dolmite, Lord George, Paul I, and Lord Thomas were able to envelope the enemy and force them into a route, cutting down thousands with arrows and melee attacks as they fled the field. Both battles led to an incredible victory for the Kingdom of Dolmite and their allies.

However after the battle, those of the Dawnguard army including Jacobi who survived the initial onslaught, continued to wage hit-and-run attacks on Dolmite and her neighbors. Considering their part of the deal completed, Rohguard sat out for the remainder of the war and strengthened their hold in the mountain regions, claiming much of what was the Dwarven Kingdoms as their own. For the next 4 years, Dolmite and her remaining allies mustered up many militia forces and levies to counteract the continuous assaults' and raids from Dawnguard. As the attacks continued, many of the Lords and Fiefdoms on the outskirts of the Kingdom were lost or destroyed, and the raids took a heavy toll on the allied Kingdoms.

In the year 475 AD the Diamond Council convened once more, discussing matters involving the everlasting Dawnguard War. Once again Rohguard sat out, as they had their own plans for expansion in the Riverland Kingdoms but offered siege equipment and mercenaries to help the cause. The other allies decided a strike into the heartland of Dawnguard was the only way to end this war once and for all. The Kings and Lords mustered all the troops and siege equipment they could and began a march into the mountains of Dawnguard. During their approach Jacbobi sent skirmishers and cavalry forward to slow down the assault which gradually took a toll on the coalition army. Suffering some losses on the trail, the army nevertheless persisted and reached the final bastion of Dawnguard's defenses in the fall of 475. The siege began quickly at first, and some progress was made against the mix of wooden palisades, earthen mound defenses, and some cobble and stone walls which gave the attackers hope. However, as the harsh winters set in, both armies suffered greatly. The Dolmitian allies were not used to such inhospitable mountain climates and frost, and as a result many suffered from hypothermia and lack of provisions. The defenders, although used to the harsh winters, were blocked in and were running low on supplies, as the winter months carried on, many perished to starvation; and with nowhere to be rid of the bodies disease soon followed and spread through the army held up inside the defenses. In late December, near the winter solstice, Father Dolmite sent emissaries desperately to Rohguard to request supplies and help through the harsh winters. No replies were sent back, but after the winter solstice celebration in Rohguard, the King sent his oldest son Richard with a small contingent of Royal Mountain Guards and shock infantry carrying winter provisions and food. The Dolmitian army and their allies rejoiced, and were soon back to work besieging the fortress. The Rohguard prince instructed them to fire burning projectiles from their catapults along any dead they had over the enemy walls, stating "The burning screams of our enemy will keep us warm through the winter, those that perished shall not die in vain neither, let them spread death to the enemy". By the time spring came, what remained of the Dawnguard-barbarian army was depleted of supplies, morale, and energy. The Allies prepared one last final attempt to scale the walls with ladders, and said prayer to their respective gods. As the winter frost continued to melt, and the prayers concluded, thunderous cheering was heard from inside the walls of the enemy fortress. Some believe King Jacobi has rallied his men with a powerful speech, or that perhaps they had seen a sign from the gods, but whatever it was, it inspired them to throw open the gates and sally forth in one final charge.

Upon seeing the helmetless Jacobi leading his men through the gates, Father Dolmite commanded his men to form a shield wall and push forward. The Rohguard Prince dawned his helmet, drew his sword and charged with the heavy shock infantry, quickly colliding with the enemy right flank. Soon after the rest of the armies clashed in a deadly brawn. It is said that Jacobi was struck by an arrow from a Dolmite archer, which made its mark in one of the chink's in his armor. Wounded by the arrow, Jaocbi was forced to drop his shield and focus his strength on wielding his heavy Dwarven war ax. The King of Dolmite, Father Dolmite himself, broke from the shield wall followed by a small contingent of the King's Guard and cut through the wavering enemy forces to reach Jacobi. The two King's finally met face to face and a raging one-on-one battle ensued. Troops from both sides began to open around the two King's forming a circle, some watching and some continuing to hack and cut down their foes. Father Dolmite, though several years older, was a more experienced King, patiently waiting to strike. Using the over-zealous bursts of anger from the Dawnguard King to his advantage, the Dolmite King supposedly dodged a direct blow from Jacobi's war ax and quickly lifted his shield to meet his assailant's chin, knocking him off his feet to his final resting place. The Dawnguard King was finally decapitated and defeated soon after. What remained of his army either fled, or died, as no prisoners were taken from this point on.

With Dawnguard crushed, and the remaining Lords and Kings pledging their allegiance to the crown of Dolmite, the lands of their former are now deemed "unclaimed". Free for the taking by settlers, and allies of Dolmite. While Father Dolmite still reigns gloriously, he was wounded in the final battle, and has fallen ill. Time will tell how long he may be with us. Long Live Dolmite!
