CHAPTER 14
Just then, it started to rain. I don't know about you, but I hate being in the rain. It's annoying and it gets dark enough for mobs to spawn. So I suggested we build up the cactus house.

"I don't think we should," Chad said, "For one, we now have 3 people, and the house only had enough room for two. And it could be awhile before the rain stops."

"I agree with him. If you guys need to be places, you shouldn't be waiting out the rain." Tom said. It annoyed me no one likes my ideas.

"Fine," I grumbled, "we'll keep going." I couldn't think of anything for a conversation, so I kept quiet. I guess Chad and Tom couldn't either.

But after awhile. "Hey...um, Chad. Can I talk to you for a minute?" Tom asked.

"Uh... sure..." Chad replied. Tom gestured for Chad to follow him out of ear shot of me. I didn't want them to get lost, so I stood where I was, watching them talk. I couldn't make out what they were saying, and I couldn't really see their lips move, but I could see their arm and hand movements. Chad had crossed his arms after a little bit, and he didn't look too happy, and Tom had stuck his hands in the pockets of his jeans.

A couple minutes later they came back over to me. They had done that guy-fist-pump-thing before leaving, and when they got to me, I raised my eyebrow but got no response. So I didn't ask anything. Another secret. Ugh.

We kept walking through the rain. It was increasingly getting darker. Night time. We should be seeing the village soon then. But a thought hadn't occurred to me. It wouldn't be kind of rude to just ask someone if you spend the night at their house, especially with 3 people. We have to though. The cactus house won't fit 3 people, apparently.

There was no sun left once I saw the village, and we were narrowly dodging creepers and zombies. But when I did see it, I ran. Mobs and rain. Worst. Night. Ever.

I didn't care whose house it was, as long as it wasn't the one from before. So, I ran up one of the houses steps and knocked. No answer. I knocked again. No answer. I went to a different house. Again, no answer. I ran up all the houses and knocked, but no one answered. They must all be asleep. Now what are we going to do?

"CRAP! They're all asleep!" I yelled. I threw myself on the ground in a sitting position.

"Emily, calm down." Chad said.

"Why should I!? This whole trip's been nothing but a disaster! What good has come out of it!? Why am I even doing this?" I started sobbing. That's not like me. I guess all my feelings I didn't even know I was feeling just rushed out of me. But they were true.

Chad sat down beside me. "It's okay, Emily, it's okay." He put his arm around me and I laid my head on his shoulder. Tom sat down on my right and patted my back. And like this, we stayed the whole night. I stopped crying, and I just sat there, watching the rain and the monsters who decided to ignore us.
