The sun could be seen shining up in the glorious blue sky, burning the desert and everything in it. Constantine did not fear though, as he could stand the heat for quite a while. There was only one thing that he did fear - dehydration. It had been days since he drank any water and his time was slowly running out. He decided to rest a bit and fell asleep on the spot lying on the sand.
He woke up, feeling even more thirsty. Determined not to give in to death, he stood up and looked around for water, but there was nothing there. Disappointed, he started to accept the fact that he would die. And then, he saw it and he could not believe his eyes - about 10 metres in front of him there were 3 pools surrounded by flora and fauna.
He approached the first pool, but he did not even think of touching the water, because he did not believe that this miracle was real. Instead, he just stood there looking at the water, trying to determine if it was truly water. The water in the pool had high waves coming from everywhere around. In the water there were very small fish running around. After a few moments, he put his toe in the water. The water was very hot, but he did not hesitate to drink. He put some of the water in his empty bottle and continued walking forward towards the other pools.
Next, he approached the second pool and put his toe there. This water was calm and warm. It still had waves but the waves were small compared to the ones in the previous pool. The fish inside did not move around much. Constantine got his toe out of the water and went to approach the third pool.
When he came to the third pool, he noticed that this pool had no fish and that there were no waves at all. Constantine did not put his toe in the water, because at the bottom of the pool, he noticed a shiny stone that had something carved on it. He immediately jumped in the pool to get the stone. This pool was deep, and the water inside was very cold. Before Constantine could reach the stone, he opened his mouth and drank some of the water. Then, there was only silence.
It was truly a pity that Constantine never got to read what was on the stone:
