Tips for your first server! + IDEAS!

♥ Tips for your first server!♥



1. Nerver do __craft to many people have it! here some examples of unique names for servers: Lucky Diamond, Wonderland mc, creative paradice

2. Aways download permissionEx and essentails first it helps alot and makes it easyer to decode (i did that mistake)

3. Advertise! I recommand not advertiseing on other servers it can bring hackers, trolls, and griefers to your server! 

4.  Have big gatherings for your server to build a stronger commity like dances, game days, and drop partys!

5.  Have unique plugins not like fractions, mcmmo, ( they are great but everyone has them!)

6.  I recommend picking a mc hosting company than your computer its less laggy and the hosting keeps hackers away! ( I recommend serverminer or MCProhosting)

7.  Never advertise your server right when you get it! (only you and your staff should be on) This can be easyer for hackers to HACK!

8. I recommend having differnt worlds on your server it makes it more joyable and less boring than survival! For some examples : RolePlay, Creative,  Games, Mob Arena, and Free build.

9.   Have a cool spawn with tons of effort. Nerver have just a room it will make players think that you dont really care and you wont put the effort at all for your server.

10.  Have at least 20 player slots to have your server grow! 

11.  INSTALL bukkit or spigot it has plugins to help your server to be more enjoyable!

12. NEVER GIVE OP TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY "IM FROM PLANET MC" OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT THERE GRIEFERS!

You don't need plugins though. My server is vanilla (but not survival) and it's fine!

Good plans. Me and winchi are making a catquake server at the moment. We are hosting it on my computer but I'm planning on saving my cash to buy a hard disk for it (I dream on). And also I'm going to get an ip for it. This is really important otherwise people could easily hack into your computer so yeah. 
Another idea, I'm making a resort on the server :).

im going to let people go on before it is complete though, but with anti grief plugins.

The two unique plugins you said are two of the most commonly used plugins on servers...
Don't spend all the time on spawn, there are lots of other things that need to be set up...
Who's to say a hosting company is less laggy?
What's wrong with a dedicated survival server?

Also it is good to set up some things but you should also work on spawn. Some people disconect if there spawn is bad and has no effort involed. and they might think that if they dont care about there server so much do they really care about me.

I myself have never disconnected from a bad spawn and I don't think a lot of people do that.

Have you ever had a server? I've had many and no one got turned off by a lack luster spawn.

I do have a server!!! Its not open yet. Im still working on it so it can be on of the best.  And im still learning but i think these are the best of tips in my opion that im trying to follow.

Well thats your option. And hosting companys are less laggy from home computers beacuse some one from across the world might not be able to conect and i would bring tons of lag. And I do agree that they are unique plugins but EVERYONE HAS THEM and most people want there server to stand out.

Who's to say the person hosting doesn't have a 4 core 3.0 GHz processor, 6 GBs of RAM, and a 100Mb/s dl and upload speed? Also, from the other side of the world, the server might be laggy. How is the solution hosting a server still halfway around the world from them?
