I visited Croatia in May - it might not count as summer vacation, but I want to share some photos with you!
(The Grand Tour jam was my motivation to post it)
We stayed in Split and most of photos are from there, but we also visited other places.
Each place has 1 displayed image and short description, more photos are in the spoiler.
Split
We stayed in Split - one of the biggest cities and main tourist destinations in Croatia. The Roman emperor Diocletian built his palace there. It later became something like an old town. A cathedral and many palaces were built inside it. The palace is a labirynth of narrow streets, with lots of restaurants and hotels inside. You can even see drying clothes over the non-renovated parts of the walls.
Displayed photo - view from Marjan hill
Hvar
We went to Hvar island by ferry and visited the Hvar town. It's a beautiful and sunny town. The island is famous for lavender - there are a lot of market stalls selling dried lavender and lavender oil.
Displayed photo - view from the restaurant on the other side of Hvar
Omiš
Pirates used to live there. It's a very nice place, we visited it twice. We went on a boat trip on the Cetina River too. I climbed up the ladders in fortress tower.
Displayed photo - the Mirabella fortress
On the fortress tower
The town of Omiš
The beach (this photo and the one above it were taken from the tower)
Church in Omiš with plants growing on its walls
The river canyon
Another photo taken on the boat
Salona/Solin
Ruins of an ancient Roman town near Split
I don't remember what is on each photo...
Krka National Park
A breathtaking national park with rivers and waterfalls. We had to ride for over an hour through empty villages to visit it, but it was worth it. It's also the place where the world's 2nd hydroelectric power plant was built.
Displayed photo: a bridge and the Skradinski buk waterfall
FROG
A small lake on the beginning of the trail
The trail in the national park
Probably another lake
View on Skradinski buk (the main waterfall) from a place that I shouldn't enter (but a lot of people went there too)
I think it's Skradinski buk, but it can be another waterfall as well. I don't remember.
Skradinski buk, front view
From a viewpoint (totally not me remembering only the Czech name for a viewpoint)
I love finding IEEE milestones in random places (it happened twice or something like that)
Amphorae
Amphorae.
[jam note - Grand Tour was related to visiting Rome, I saw Roman artifacts]
Sorry for long post, thank you for reading if you did it.
Feel free to ask me any questions related to that trip!
I can give you some tips if you want to visit these places.
Please tell me if PMC is moody and stopped showing some of the photos or if I made any spelling/grammar mistakes.

Promenade with a view on the harbor - I didn't expect to see palm trees.
The same place but the other side of the pavement
Inside Diocletian's Palace
Diocletian's Palace and the cathedral
The narrow, lively streets
Another street and a clock tower
Behind the church
Church tower, ruins of a dome and some houses
View from the church tower
View on Split and the mountains from the harbor
The ugly blocks are here too... >:[
A street outside the palace and a fountain
Sunset on the last day of the trip (the blog's main image was taken just a bit later in a nearby place)

The Great Wall of Hvar
An old church?
View on Hvar and nearby islands
Plants below the castle
I forgot to write about the castle...You can see it on this photo
Hvar was used in my geography textbook as a coastline example - they didn't tell what place is it (and showed a map of a different part of Croatia) but I recognized it
