Trolling Younger Kids Over Minecraft - Why?

Trolling younger kids almost seems like it could be it's own genre, it spams my subsription and recommended feed, it's everywhere, and it's absolutely revolting.

Minecraft is a game that little kids love to play, whether it's by themselves, or with others. At a young age, you have all these whacky dreams and ideas that nobody would have ever thought of, and what better way to put it than in minecraft? Kids love building all these insane buildings, mining for diamonds and resources, and in general, having a good time.

They spend and put so much time into what they desire. They are young, so they have a lot more time on their hands than us teenagers, so why not spend months and months working on their dream? Let's face it, when we were new to minecraft, possibily even now, you would spend so much time on a build or peice of art, it just becomes a crave.

Childrens minds aren't fully developed, so they will add random's over the internet, and what do you know? It's a big youtuber ready to blow up his entire world! It's just revolting, watching a poor 8 year old cry as all his hard work is blown to smithereens by a 17 year old teenager choking on his own laughter.  I don't see what entertainment is provided by this content, whether most of us today are cold-hearted, or love watching 8 year old children cry.

Lot's of the titles are things like "LITTLE KID WHO THINKS HE IS PEWDIEPIE GETS TROLLED AND RAGES".
They think they are pewdiepie? So what?
It's a natural behaviour for little children to pretend. They look up to him, so they pretend to be him. Stereotypically, children always pretend to be superheroes such as spiderman, superman, and so forth, but what is wrong with it? If they like pretending to be a large youtuber, so be it, no need to blow up there months of hard work for the sake of 100000 peoples viewing pleasure.

Sure, little kids can be a bit of a pest at times, but we need to understand they are still growing up, and are yet to learn qualifications of life, and what they can and can't have. As much as they annoy you, treat them like an angel, maybe they'll look up to you, and become a brighter person. There is no need to destroy all there hard work for the sake of youtube. Let them be, and let them have fun. Let them chase there dreams, let there minds go beyond the limits.
Don't destroy it.

i think the problem with trolling young kids is because they dont actually KNOW they're age but trolling is still lame

People grief and troll in Minecraft because they think it is funny, or at least that is the case most of the time. The internet is the wild west of the modern day: anyone can do just about anything they want to and usually don't get caught. We play in a software-cold world full of people who love to ruin others for fun. The sad truth.

I disagree. When a parent buys their child Minecraft and lets them play on Singleplayer, that's fine. When said parent lets their child play on Multiplayer, they should be aware that their child will be playing with random strangers. The parent should supervise if the child is under a certain age, but of course that never happens and the child will experience being trolled. Do I think the trollers are in the wrong? Sometimes. It depends on the scenario. Are the parents in the wrong? Hell yes they are. They allowed their underaged children to play with random people on the internet which they knew included bad people.

As for the actual child, I find that on a lot of videos the reason the trollers troll the child is because they're trash-talking, being extremely annoying, being racist or just swearing at other people. When they do get trolled, a valuable lesson is learned: Treat people how you would like to be treated. Of course, this isn't always the case and there are better ways of teaching him, but still.

It's nice to see you blogging again.

In short, I completely agree with this. I saw a video where a guy destroyed a child's Minecraft battleship. It was huge and detailed, it must have taken weeks. This "funny" troll destroyed it in an instant, then laughed at the child. It was disgusting.

Diamond and favorite for this blog.

You prove a good point and expressed it very vividly, it definitely makes you think of who your watching if you like to watch troll videos or to those who ARE trolls. A lot of kids get messed up from this experience as well, a little kid I use to know spent 8 months on an epic build, he invited someone to the server, and they destroyed it. The build really ment something to him and he was really mad for a very long time. I also think that trolling is repulsive and disrespectful towards builders and ESPECIALY little kids. If you are wondering why I named myself Jill Likes TNT it was purely because I am not a troll, but because it fit and I just really liked the name. Overall I do agree with what you said and think you proved very good points, *hits Subscribe button*

why were they building it on a server anyway?
it's much easier to just build it in a single player superflat world.

It might be a bit helpful to include a section on how to properly approach a scenario when kids are involved. All you're saying is DON'T do this and DON'T do that and really it leaves no room for letting us know some of the things we should DO, like making it clear to younger players that thes things happen and how to avoid them BEFORE they do. If a younger player is in the wrong it shouldn't be a matter of yelling or laughing at them for being wrong, we should let them know how to correct whatever it is that's wrong. There are so many children who grow up around people who only know how to be negative instead of positive and it's not healthy.

Agreed. I see so many vids on Youtube that are all "EIGHT YEAR OLD GETS GRIEFED AND HE RAGES" and stuff like that. While watching, I actually feel sort of bad for the kid who got griefed or trolled or whatever. I don't see the point. So what if a million people are watching? What if that kid saw the video on Youtube, with all the teasing comments? Their feelings will probably get hurt. So I totally agree with this.

Oh, now that we know your stand point on the matter, I can't wait to see what you have to say next!

Minecraft is a game that little kids love to play, whether it's by themselves, or with others.

Never would have guessed...

At a young age, you have all these whacky dreams and ideas that nobody would have ever thought of, and what better way to put it than in minecraft?

Yes, because when I was little and came up with a 'whacky' dream/idea, I went right over to my computer and hoped on Minecraft! *sarcasm*

Kids love building all these insane buildings, mining for diamonds and resources, and in general, having a good time.

*Generalization is ignored due to lack of proof*

They spend and put so much time into what they desire.

I bet.

They are young, so they have a lot more time on their hands than us teenagers, so why not spend months and months working on their dream?

Makes sense to me...

Let's face it, when we were new to minecraft, possibily even now, you would spend so much time on a build or peice of art, it just becomes a crave.

This is something I personally can agree with...

Childrens minds aren't fully developed, so they will add random's over the internet, and what do you know?

Uh oh, here it comes....

It's a big youtuber ready to blow up his entire world!

There's the big sha-bang!

It's just revolting, watching a poor 8 year old cry as all his hard work is blown to smithereens by a 17 year old teenager choking on his own laughter.

Oh, well you see here, that's simply your opinion, and nothing more. My opinion is that it's hilarious and beneficial. Beneficial in the way that the "poor 8 year old" learns that he shouldn't add random people into his game/server. It puts him in his place.

I don't see what entertainment is provided by this content, whether most of us today are cold-hearted, or love watching 8 year old children cry.

You see, just because YOU can't see whats funny/beneficial about it, doesn't mean that it's bad. You are not seeing that it's actually doing more good. If hundreds of thousands of people are laughing at a video on YouTube I don't see the harm in it.

Lot's of the titles are things like "LITTLE KID WHO THINKS HE IS PEWDIEPIE GETS TROLLED AND RAGES".
They think they are pewdiepie? So what?

It's jsut discription of the video's content in the title. If it didn't have a title like that, it wouldn't draw in viewers, similar to how readers choose books in a library.

It's a natural behaviour for little children to pretend. They look up to him, so they pretend to be him.

So that's makes it ok for impersonation? Not only that but for 'trolls' it may seem as an easy target, and it some cases it's proven that it is.

Stereotypically, children always pretend to be superheroes such as spiderman, superman, and so forth, but what is wrong with it?

The fact that children should only pretend to be superheroes, and not famous YouTube stars. Especially if those YouTube stars use foul language excessively. And as stated previously, they might be prime targets for 'trolls'

If they like pretending to be a large youtuber, so be it, no need to blow up there months of hard work for the sake of 100000 peoples viewing pleasure.

Oh but theres the problem, you see large YouTube stars make money off of the site, even for a living. And just because a few people think that what they do in there videos are bad things, they're not going to stop doing so. Especially if most of their comments are mostly postitive.

Sure, little kids can be a bit of a pest at times, but we need to understand they are still growing up, and are yet to learn qualifications of life, and what they can and can't have.

And who's to say they cant learn these things due to a troll, say I dont know, trolling them?

As much as they annoy you, treat them like an angel, maybe they'll look up to you, and become a brighter person.

Never in my entire life have I seen a teenager praise a little boy and not go to jail for it. Needless to say, it won't happen.

There is no need to destroy all there hard work for the sake of youtube.

Unless of course your financial status depends on making videos to generate views and in turn getting you money.

Let them be, and let them have fun. Let them chase there dreams, let there minds go beyond the limits.
Don't destroy it.

Im going to try and save you right now from what you're doing. Don't stand up for these 'poor 8 year olds" otherwise you'll just become another target for 'trolls'. You're just going to harm yourself buddy, and I know you don't want that now do you?

-Good day.

How delusional can you be? If you really believe things like this are okay because it "puts kids in their place" and that if other people find it funny then it must be okay then you must be delusional. Also if someone makes money by making children upset on a video game then they need to rethink their career path tbh.

I am not delusional at all sweet heart. And believe it or not, it does make kids learn. If a troll ruins a world, they'll be more careful with whom they invite next into their world. And I never said that sense people find it funny everything about it is okay. I said that those who laugh will keep watching similar videos, thus the YouTube stars posting the videos still earn money. Also, the stars can rethink their career path all they want, but they more than likely going to stick with what they do, because in such a rough economy to even get a normal job where people live it'd be too risky for them to give up what they have, and try something else. Especially if that money they earn cane barely pay their bills.

So now it's trolls responsibility to teach kids not to trust everyone? What should they start feeding them and buying them clothes too?? It is not a trolls responsibility to teach them things like that. It's not like we are talking about teenagers or adults here you are are saying that children need trolls to teach them something that their parents should teach them? These people aren't even doing it to teach kids any lessons they are doing it so they can post it online and say "haha look I made this 5 year old cry xDDD so funneh!!" And it's not like videos like these are the only way to get popular.

Never once did I say it was the troll's responsibility. I said that the kids learning something from them isn't a bad thing even though the general population believes that it is wrong by itself. They aren't looking at the actual benefits, YOU aren't looking at them. I never once said that younger kids NEED trolls to educate them or teach them a lesson. You're right, these videos aren't the only way to get popular, although many stars on YouTube have made trolling little ones apart of what they're most commonly recognized for. Thus, if they change this, a result could be that they lose views, or they might gain them, but as I stated previously, they may not be willing to take such a risk when they are comfortable with what they are doing.

"trolling" in the sense that people mess with other in a non hurtful way is funny. People who troll younger people are just small weak guys who believe that the only way they can fell superior than others is to show they are smarter than a 5 year old.

Youtubers like MinnesotaBurns are funny but those that harrase young children are pathetic.
