My Idea for this contest is to add a large variety of equipment for battling normal mobs or bosses with a little bit of fun and style. I have drawn out a few ideas and the crafting recipes to go with them. I also have listed the ideas and purposes below, enjoy.
1.) Leather strips
Used for crafting weapon hilts and steel armor.
2.) Leathered wooden hilt
Used for making wooden weapons.
3.) Sharpened wooden blade
Used for making wooden swords or for a one heart dealing weapon.
4.) Wooden sword with grip
weapon with the durability of an iron sword and damage of stone.
5.) Wooden broadsword with grip
weapon with the durability and damage of an iron sword but with a slower swing.
6.) Deadly poison
Used for crafting poisoned wooden sword with grip or for drinking which will deal ten hearts of damage instantly killing you.
7.) Poisoned wooden sword with grip
Same base damage as the wooden sword with grip but also gives your enemy poison for ten seconds.
8.) Iron bar
Used for making hilts and iron blades.
9.) Iron blade
Used for making iron swords or for a one and a half heart dealing weapon.
10.) Leathered iron hilt
Used for making iron weapons.
11.) Katana
Same damage as an iron sword but is three times faster at swinging.
12.) Poisoned iron sword with grip
Same base damage as an iron sword but also gives your enemy poison for ten seconds.
13.) Shields
Equipped by putting a shield in the shield slot in the inventory and then switching to a weapon. To use hold down right click. (you can attack with the shield up but your vision is halved by the shield.)
14.) Plates
Used for crafting armor and shields. Comes in gold iron and steel.
15.) Crushed coal
Used for making steel (The pickaxe is not destroyed but a use is removed.)
16.)Iron with coal
Put in furnace to make steel
17.) Lantern
Used as a portable light source or can be thrown to create fire on the block it lands on.
18.) Lantern handle
Used to make the lantern.
19.) Steel armor
Has a durability between iron and diamond, the defense of diamond and the enchantability of iron.
