The Crusader Mod will allow for trimming weapons> I personally love armor trims, they are a nice touch to decoration and have been the most recent real decorative item added since 1.12, but why just limit it to armor, I see no reason why you can't put trim templates on more than just armor, in medieval times weapons were often decorated.

Good idea (may MS/Mj grit their collective teeth at missing it).

Decorations to weapons long predate the medieval: notably, by that period a sword's accoutrements (pommel, grip, guard/quillons, etc) were sometimes collectively known as the sword's 'jewelry'. [This term was also sometimes used to include the scabbard (a bit of kit MC does without).]

For maces (at least the cerimonial versions) the decor became so elaborate that many ceremonial late period maces actually have pommels several times the size and mass of the head (business end). [If looking at things like paintings of kings, it is important to know that the mace of office (often considered to resprsent the rule of law) was depicted pommel up.]

One technical limitation that may lend verisimilitude is that only the grips and tips of bows were decorated (barring a few non-functional parade pieces and the occassional embroidered limb sheath) as the mechanical unity of the bow limbs was necessary to weapon function.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this….
