4-bit is some of the oldest set of colors that have been used in earlier DOS games. It is a set consisting of only 16 colors. This set of colors has been used in games, such as Commander Keen and other"antiques".However, it's not the oldest set of colors - my dad told me that there was this thing (I can't remember what it was) that runs in only two colors (red and blue) plus two more colors (black and white). I think it was something that you can play games on. Anyway, my dad thought it was pretty cool at that time! :)

This has also been used in Commodore 64 games, but the graphics (not the pixels) were somewhat "rectangular" if the unique color just sits alone other than being with any of the same color on top or on the bottom or sideways.

The Chart

The chart above shows you what colors are in the 4-bit set. As you can see, the RGB is displayed on the left side. This shows the RGB formula of each colors (shown on the right side). You can use this to help you with your making of 4-bit skins, resource packs, etc. To assure you that these colors are actual 4-bit colors, I've taken a Commander Keen 5 screenshot. I used it to help me make this blog. However, if you want to try to prove that one of these colors are fake, you may. But I'm pretty sure that all of these colors are real.
FAQ: This has nothing to do with Minecraft. So why did you make it?
Actually, it does have to do with Minecraft. You're just not seeing it. There're so many colors in a 32-bit palette that some of it are 4-bit colors. All of these colors are used from anywhere. You can use the utility to help you make 4-bit skins or other textures.

Well, that's all for now. I hope this chart helps! If it doesn't, however, ask for help.

P.S. Have I used the correct catagory?

Then you're probably right about that. Honestly, I know almost nothing about these systems/companies (except Namco). I know the most on computers. However, I didn't say who/what made these colors.
