Hello everyone!, I think you guys have noticed as much as a lot of the older minecraft players, that the old ' spark ' of minecraft has left. Now we left with a lot of PvP faction servers filling up all of the slots under the ' servers ' tag, as a older player ( 2010 ) I remember when minecraft was about building, creativity, and surviving together. Now, Minecraft has turned into another game that was good, and went downhill from there. Now, I'm not just saying that it is the owner's of the servers fault, i mean, of course there is a lot of blame on them. But think of what mojang are doing to our old beloved minecraft. They are almost making it all PvP related things, now, don't get me wrong. i love minecraft, if i didn't why would i still be on the website typing this out? i still think there is a small amount of hope left in the old minecraft players. I have seen 4-5 minecraft server just like they were in the older state of the game. I think you know who the owners of the servers were, Yep! Older minecraft players ( NOT AGE WISE ) I really hope that we can fix the new minecraft and have it half and half again. Thanks for reading my rant. heh.

I don't really think it has anything to do really with "the game changing too much" or anything like that. It's really a two-part problem IMO.

Part one is that Minecraft, by it's very nature, can get EXTREMELY boring after being played long enough. I know a lot of "used to play minecraft" people out there who played it for a good year or so, and then figured that there is only so many different ways to build a house/wire redstone/eat pigs and simply became tired of it.

Part two is a Mojang issue. The company isn't focusing on producing anything...useful. For example, when is the last time Mojang released a true security update for MC? Never, instead, we have to rely on things like NoCheatPlus, or other 3rd party mods to handle a VERY first-party issue. I could cite more examples of this, but basically, mojang adds features that either no one wants, or features that people have already implemented themselves (i.e. mod API vs. bukkit/technic).

Couple these two issue with the game catching on in mainstream gaming and the flood of 12-14 year olds and you have a situation where the game
1.gets boring fast
2.never has good updates
3.ruined social atmosphere

So yeah, that's my two cents on that...

Well, when it comes to mojang, I see a lot of bullshit that really just doesn't make sense in any way that you stretch it.

Just to lay it out there, when is it ever consitered a good idea for your lead developer (notch) on you company's most successful unfinished product (MC) to go off and start piddling around with card games (scrolls) and a ASM emulator (0x10c) while leaving the fate of your money-maker in the hands of a server scripter (jeb)?

So yeah, I dunno. MC is cool and fun etc, but mojang is just something I can't even...
