I decided to write this blog about creativity as a good follow up for my imagination blog. By the way, thank you for all the support and feedback on my last blog. If you see anything wrong in this blog like punctuation or odd matter, please let me know because I am a new blogger and open to new ideas :)
[I wanted to make this blog short and sweet so everyone could get through it]
I've always been asked at school and PMC, "what's so important about creativity?" So today I decided to post a blog about it.
Through our education, we are taught that it is important to always strive for the highest grade we can get. Our teachers prepare us for standardized tests that measure our skill and knowledge. Those tests determine where in the economic society we will be placed. But what if I told you that those tests DO NOT accurately measure an individual's ability to succeed?
For instance; if you were to ask a represented official or politician about these type of tests, they would claim that its important for the economy for you to do well. But if you were to ask a business owner about this "standard" of education, who are involved in the economy, they wouldn't care as much about test scores because they want people who are creative and innovative. Business owners are always concerned about creativity, and how they will be able to systematically run their businesses through creative thinking and new ideas--new ideas need people who are brave and imaginative.
So to relate this into minecraft; there are no standards or procedures you have to follow, just do. Creativity means that you are free to make or create what you most feel like. It's as simple as imagining things and making it into a reality. Whatever you create is an expression of yourself because you are fulfilling an idea that you thought of.
You think what you create isn't as good as what others create?
You can always practice or work to improve your creations, besides there is absolutely no reason why you should compare your self to some one else; all that does is gets you worried that what you do isn't good enough. Don't think like that! If you work hard on things you submit to PMC, your ability to make things will improve as well as the recognition you receive. But, don't create things just for experience points, create them because you imagined something and wanted to make it real.
I have searched and searched to find a good definition of creativity, but I never realized that it was standing in front of me the whole time;

No one can tell you what to think but your self
In the end, you will be much more successful in life if you are able to stand out and be creative amongst a sea of others. It's perfectly okay to be different than your peers, and remember to not stick to the status quo because you never know if you will be the one raising the bar. Whatever you make is genuine to you, and it will always be part of you. So, after reading this, go create something and leave me a link in the comments!
