"Minecraft will soon run out of good ideas, it happens to mostly every game and soon people will forget about it. People just need to see to understand that."
UPDATE III:
Microsoft bought Minecraft and it kinda relates to the essential question but as of right now it just seems they made their own turning point. Minecraft has to be one of my favorite games and it's coming from me and to see that another company offers 2.0 billion dollars to Mojang and get rejected then offer 2.5 and accepts it is really mind-blowing to the players who were here till the start.
I don't disagree to the decision, what Notch said.
"It’s not about the money. It’s about my sanity."
Sparked a thought that to work everyday or so to put out an update and don't get the enjoyment to make other games is really hard and sure enough that was his mindset in the first place. He didn't intended to get famous but he sure did a great job doing so.
Notch, you will be missed.
Update II:
Minecraft has evolved into one of the very popular indie-games and now contains a load of new features and content, but from people's perspective it seems their kinda losing their edge. Minecraft is a pretty standard, having to build and place blocks to the limit of your imagination, venture down into the caves and explore what journey awaits. 1.8 the new popular update everybody is daunting about with armor stands and coloured beacons has to be some of the pretty good features but is actually mods from other developers, w-hh-a-aa-a-wat.
They can be found here:
Colored Beacons - Aesthetic, Armor Stands Mod.
There's a lot more than these two features but like horses, more flowers, hay stacks, more fish, etc. You may think Mojang will NOT run out of ideas because of the millions of mods out there. But nobody is gonna accept a sponge, lava sky, potato armor mod into Minecraft.
Horses n' Hay - Mo' Creatures
More Flowers Mod
More Fish Mod
Update I:
Minecraft has evolved into one of the very popular sandboxes created and now contains more features and content, but from people's perspective it seems like they been thinking alot. The frequent updates are mostly bug fixes and the major ones like the Horse Update, and The Pretty Scary Update, does take up a lot of features that could possible slow down Mojang's thinking process.
It may seem that the updates will go on forever but eventually they will end to the amount of work put in. Even though the mod creators may give some inspiration to Mojang it will probably still end looking at the reasonable side. But soon more developers will come in and take their place and keep thinking of more and more ideas for the sake of the fans.
It's more like climbing a hill of rocks and putting your rock on the top and seeing what will fall down. I don't know what Mojang has up their sleves but it better be pretty awesome.
