WorldEdit Tutorial #1
Floating Islands

In this blog i will show you how to make floating islands with worldedit.
I will have a decent explanation down there VV.
but i recommend you to watch the video and closely watch what i do ;).

Allright, let's begin making a floating island.
First you do //wand and grab yourself a stick to.
then you do //up 100 to get enough sky space.
after that you do //cyl grass <any amount> 1.
when you have done that you assign the //tree bigtree tool to the stick.
then you start right clicking the whole area until it's covered with tree's (best to watch vid for this).
after that you select the whole cylinder area square with your wand.
when done with that you do //expand vert to select all blocks from bedrock to top.
the following thing you do is //replace leaf, log sand (yes sand).
then you do //replace sand 90%stone,10%dirt for a natural look :)
Now it is actually the best to watch the video but ill try explaining the following.
when done with that you select the cyl and the stone/dirt on top it.
then you do //cut (no worries i know all dissapears).
the following thing you do is //flip up.
after doing that you do //paste.
sometimes it wont work (that happened with me).
then you just do //undo and //flip up and //paste again :).
Now you got your floating island its under part done.
Now you do /tool none on the stick first.
and then you do //tool brush cyl grass 3 3 (size depending on island size).
and you start adding some depth on the top.
when done with that you do /tool none again on stick.
and do /tool brush smooth (no sizes just default works best for me).
well, smooth it out but be carefull on the sides of the floating island cus smoothing could mess it up.
when done with that take out your bonemeal and add grass and flowers everywhere.
if you have a small island you go to the middle and 2x /forestgen would work for some trees.
Voilá, you have your island.
Don't forget that the video can be a much better tutorial!

Note: I did some more things in the video, but you need to mess around a bit to right? xD

Not bad. I usually use gravel and sand spheres of various sizes to make the island inverted, then naturalize, //replace grass 1,1,4,98:2, then //replace dirt 1,1,82. Then overlay the top once flipped with //overlay 3,1,82,3 for 2 layers and //overlay grass for the top. The //br cyl grass for the shaping of the top.

I like the the tree method too, but it doesn't work as well for bigger islands.
