Traveling to the dimension
The portal is made by dropping a netherstar into the water that is surrounded by a specific pattern of cornflowers and blue orchids. You also need a lapis block below the water source. You can see an Image of it in the gallery. To get back to the overworld fall to the bottom the dimension.

Holy, this update changed a ton, and added a fair amount, so much to list! I don't even remember all of the changes!
  • Changed mob spawn rates to make them more balanced
  • Allowed wither skeletons to spawn in the Deepslate Caverns
  • The majority of the mobs in Lush Caverns are zombies now
  • Tweaked Biome Placement to cater to the new cold biomes
  • Added a particle effect to the dripstone drops
  • Added a new biome called "sky:sky_taiga"
  • Added a new biome called "sky:frozen_fields"
  • Added a new biome called "sky:frozen_chasams"
  • Modified cave generation
  • Modified noise placed dripstone strips in the dripstone drops
  • Modified noise placed amethyst strips in the amethyst crags
  • Modified noise placed calcite strips in the amethyst crags
  • Modified the Deepslate Caverns basalt columns
  • A ton more things I can't remember.

Tried updating it myself, however I can't get past the carver not being recognized as a json object.
I even tried porting it from the final version to no avail. :(

I liked this datapack.

I think if I do update this to 1.19/1.18.2 i'll probably remake it, but currently I'm working on another world gen datapack. It should hopefully release soon. As for the remake, I wanna make the floating islands more islandy, because the islands of this datapack looked more like a regular world with chunks taken out of it.



props to you for attempting to port it to 1.18.2 though, that's pretty impressive.

The thing I loved about this is that it felt like the Beta Sky dimension that was briefly in the game. I liked how it was simple and just a great expanse floating in the sky.

Another thing it reminded me of was some of the sky dimension islands seen in 20w14infinite.
So it was definitely great even if I preferred the first version with few but unique biomes. Like the surface level lush caves and the blue forest and plains.

I honestly thought updating the datapack version would have been enough.

I believe that they already spawn in the sky taigas.

Would be nice if they spawned in forests too. I think the Sky dimension shouldn't just be Overworld biomes in the sky, they should have some unique characteristics. Forexample Sky Taigas could have polar bears spawning there too.

Sky forests could have foxes and maybe the killer bunny or something.

When I made the portal it just made a constant sound and gave me feather falling but did not warp me to the dimension.
