PPG's Weapon Expansion introduces new weapon types and variations along with new enchantments to enhance survival gameplay! This datapack was made in light of the many new datapack features introduced in 1.21 including custom enchanting and nbt crafting, aiming to provide features similar to mods like "Epic Knights: Shields, Armor and Weapons".

My goal in designing this datapack was to provide a bit more variation in combat styles in a way that is still balanced around survival. No particular weapon should be inherently better than the rest, but should instead allow players to find a fighting style that better suits them better than base Minecraft's rather linear options.

TO GET STARTED: Craft a "Weapon Compendium" with a book, axe of any kind, and sword of any kind. Using the Weapon Compendium will unlock all new recipes for this datapack in the recipe book. Have fun!

the texture pack uses 2 models for a single weapon. wouldnt it be easier to just use a single model? and just make it so the model uses the 2 textures? like have it as a sort of grouped

what i mean that the texture pack uses 2 models is that it has a model for both hilt and the blade

history
Ah wait actually I remember why I did it this way. It's because of the way I used the composite models in the item files for themselves. Composite models only let me call the individual item model, not individual textures. The reason I did it like this is to make it so that I don't have to make texture files for every single variation for each skin (wood, stone, diamond, etc).

you can group the cubes in a model so you can basically use 2 textures in 1 model. 1 group using the hilt texture and the other using the blade texture

Ohh. You know, for whatever reason that never occurred to me to do for the 2d textures. Would have saved me a lot of time, especially since I have to go and change it now..... thanks for pointing that out. It'll be changed in the next update.

Hey thanks! The easiest way to get it in creative is to just give yourself a command block since that is the base item.
