Apache Helicopter Datapack

Download and install both the Apache Datapack and resource pack for this to work.

This is for Minecraft Java 26.2 only.
(Might make it for lower versions, ask in comments)

Getting started


Where to get items


In your crafting table you will see all the receipes for these items:

Assembly Pad (Building Station)

Derrick (Crude Extractor)

Refinery (Turn Crude into Fuel)

Gas Pump (Take that fuel from the refinery to actually use the fuel)

Jerry Can (Carry fuel)

Crude Barrel (Used in the extraction and refinery)


Using Helicopter


You place down the assembly pad and fill in all the items that it requires to build the heli.

Then you will need fuel for the heli, so you need a derrick to pump out crude, make sure to have a crude barrel with you.

Then once the barrel is full you take it and place it at a refinery, which then converts crude into fuel.

To then use that fuel get a Gas Pump and place it within 12 blocks of the refinery, you will then be able to fuel your heli or pump fuel in a jerry can to then carry it with you.


CONTROLS


Mouse: Steer and aim
W/S: forward pitch/breaking and nose-up
A/D: low-speed pedals and lateral trim at higher speeds
Space/Ctrl: Climb/descend
Double tap W: boost
Double tap S: hold position
Right click: fire weapon
F: change weapon
Q: flares
Sneak: Exit
Hold S while stopped on ground: shuts down engines.



Realistic Flying Physics


You can place a derrick anywhere, but the best place is in a badlands or desert, where you get 'sweet crude' giving you twice as much fuel duration in flight.
My suggestion is have some crude barrels and a derrick in a desert or badlands and simply go and fill up there then bring back to your refinery at your base so that you can get quicker access to fuel.

The helicopter also has a cargo bay at the back (look for the nametag of it), where you can transport anything necessities such as a jerry can for fuel.

This is a 2 seater helicopter, where the first player is the pilot, and the second a gunner. The pilot can still shoot weapons when there is a gunner with them.


Weapons

Cannon with 500 rounds, if you hold too long you will overheat it for a couple seconds.
38 Rockets
4 homing missiles
24 carpet bay bombs
8 flares
  - Flares divert homing missiles aimed at you


Repairing

When your hull is damaged, your heli is affected by that, and reach under 25% and your fuel starts to leak.
You can use iron ingots to repair upto 50% by right clicking on the heli on the ground, but to get it to full, bring it to a assembly pad, it will auto detect that there is helicopter damage and switch to the service bay for you to repair.

Going into the water opens a raft where the heli stays on top of the water, you have to then drain it by holding space. You must bring it to a assembly pad as fast as possible since your weapons will be malfunctioning due to the water damage, your cannon wont be able to shoot well, keeps jamming, your missiles and rockets will shoot where they want and your carpet bay wont open.

I must emphasise that all explosions do NOT destroy blocks.


If you run out of fuel mid-air, use Ctrl as you fall to preserve rotor RPM, then S near the ground when the HUD says S - FLARE NOW. Holding space thinking it will bring you up drains the rotor speed and makes you plummet to your death.

Installation

Use Minecraft Java 26.2
Download both datapack and resourcepack
Place the datapack in your world's datapack folder
Place the resourcepack in your resourcepack folder
KEEP BOTH ZIPPED.

and DONE. SIMPLE. no mods. Playable on realms and multiplayer. VERY simple!
