It is finally here!
This pack lets you transform into twelve different fantasy creatures, each one possessing one to four positive or negative traits. I have been working on this pack tirelessly for a week, releasing each of the seven traits they can possess as independent datapacks. If you are new, allow me to give you a quick recap of the traits that make up each of the creatures. You may find more info here. If you want the sequel with twice the creatures, click here
Positive:
- Alluring Song
- Tames all nearby animals
- Weakens Nearby Players
- Gives you better trades with Villagers
- Confuses Pillagers
- Requires wand
- Flight
- Allows you to fly by sprinting
- Look up to go up and down to go down
- Fae Stealth
- Sneak to turn invisible
- Blind players and make a speedy getaway
- Requires Wand
- Get speed while running on leaves
Negative:
- Burning In Sunlight
- Gives you slowness, then mining fatigue, then kills you if you stay out in the sun for too long
- Transparent blocks and water block sunlight as well
- Metal Weakness
- Wearing chainmail, iron, gold, or netherite armor causes you to take damage, as does eating golden food and mining metal blocks or ores
Mixed:
- Eternal Hunger
- Eating food makes you hungry, but killing mobs fills you up
- Bigger mobs, meatier mobs, tougher mobs, and humanoid mobs restore more hunger
- Gills
- Breathing in water restores your oxygen.
- Air depletes it.
Now that you know the traits, I present to you the twelve hand crafted creatures you can choose:
Human: No Traits or Effects
Demon: Alluring Song and Burning In Sunlight
Wendigo: Alluring Song and Eternal Hunger
Werewolf: Metal Weakness and Eternal Hunger with a strength boost
Vampire: Flight, Burning In Sunlight, Metal Weakness and Eternal Hunger
Fairy: Alluring Song, Flight, and Metal Weakness
Merfolk: Alluring Song and Gills with dolphin's grace two
Kelpie: Eternal Hunger and Gills with dolphin's grace
Dragonborn: Flight, Metal Weakness, and Eternal Hunger with resistance two
Gremlin: Burning In Sunlight and Fae Stealth with a mining speed boost
Will of the Wisps: Alluring Song and Fae Stealth with weakness
Troll: Burning In Sunlight with a strength boost
Installing:
Once you have dowloaded the zip file, unzip it. You will find a bunch of folders and a text document that says instructions. Drag the folders found in the zip file to the datapacks folder of your world save. Once there, type "/reload" and you are ready to go. If you plan to use any of the wands, you are going to want Dukette's resource pack.
Selecting your the creature you want to be:
Type "/trigger fct_selector set 1" into chat. This will work for any player, regardless of their operator status. A screen will appear in chat. Click the creature you want to be once you are in a safe spot, and you will gain that creatures traits and effects. Other players will be able to see your creature type in chat and on your name tag, so be careful.
Final Note:
This pack is the culmination of eleven hours of work, making it by far my longest project. Please don't let it flop; I put a lot of effort into making it balanced and fun. While you can use this as a singleplayer challenge, I would recommend going multiplayer, as many of the traits were adapted for pvp. I hope you all have fun with it and I hope it enhances your gain experience. I think at least thirteen of you were waiting for this to come out, so please give it lots of love.
This also might not be the last we see of this datapack series. Depending on how much support this gets, I may add new creatures and traits. Subscribe to see what happens next.
