Blizzard King Data Pack

My entry for the 6th Data Pack Jam


This data pack adds a new structure with a boss, the Blizzard King!

Ruined castles generate in Ice Spike biomes, and going near one at midnight, while it's snowing, will summon the boss.



The Blizzard king has 5 attacks that he randomly casts:

Ice Projectiles: The King shoots 5 hard hitting projectiles in rapid succession that will slow the player. More likely to happen when the player is a moderate distance away.

Ice Trap: He freezes the player in a block of ice for 4 seconds.

Minion Summon: He can summon from 1-3 strays to help it fight. This can get overwhelming if you don't defeat him quickly.

AOE Summon: He summons short, rapidly expanding area effect cloud, healing itself and its minions while damaging you.

Blizzard: The King disappears in a flurry of snow and reappears at a random position near you, so watch your back when he does this. More likely to happen when the player is a moderate distance away. Guaranteed to happen when the player is a large distance away. You can't simply run away from this fight.

Setting him ablaze will make him angry, and he will launch his attacks much more often. Use caution.



Once the Blizzard King is defeated, he will drop his sword; the Blizzard King's Blade.

This unbreakable sword will allow you to preform his Blizzard attack by looking at a mob and sneaking for 1 second. This will teleport you to a random position close to the mob and facing it, so you can hit it quickly.
