Plain Description
This data pack adds the ability to move the world spawn point, but only once. The first compass that you pick up will be enchanted. Hold down right-click to use it. When used, world spawn will be moved to your current location and rotation, and a custom advancement will be announced.
Artistic Description
This simple data pack aims to fix a common problem.
After starting a new world, you set out to find a place for your house. You travel for days and days, over mountains and across oceans. Then, you see it: the perfect spot! Whether it's the biome or the cool world generation or the way the sun sets low on the horizon, somehow this place calls to you, so that’s where you settle down.
Weeks later, you might have a nether portal or some impressive armor, but your prized possession is still this beautiful landscape you call home (along with the little shack you’ve popped in the middle of it). You remember the journey here and how many sights you saw on the way. You decide to go adventuring again.
BUT ALAS! You’ve died! Using a travel-bed to skip the night reset your spawn point and now you’re back at the last place you ever wanted to be: world spawn. You’re a million miles from anywhere, without a hope of ever seeing your beloved home EVER again. What should you have done differently? Should you have just built your house at spawn to begin with? NAY! Adventuring is the joy of the game!
Behold, the solution is hither, here, nigh, near, and even at this present location. Don’t let the world spawn point hold you back… take it with you.
