Dimensional Doors is a survival friendly and somewhat vanilla method to transport players, animals, and any other entities across dimensions and over massive distances.
For a very long time, I've wanted a vanilla-based, survival and multiplayer friendly /home and /sethome because I usually walk outwards from my base for 10k+ blocks to explore and then give up trying to get back home. Using /tp felt like cheating to me and the /home and /warp cooldowns didn't make it less of a cheat since it could still be used anywhere.
So with help from a friend and the /forceload command, I made a survival friendly door system that allows inter-dimensional warping. Just be careful when you're trying to dismantle the extremely volatile wormhole-in-a-door.
Not to be confused with its forge mod counterpart with the same name, this datapack does not share many features with the mod.
The downloaded datapack should be a zip file named "dimensionaldoors-v3.01.04.zip"
- Installing for a new world
- Checking if it is installed
Find the config file in the zip file at this path:\dimensionaldoors-v3.01.04.zip\data\dimensionaldoors\functions\config.mcfunction
Open it with a text editor. Instructions to change each option is in the config file itself.

The even longer awaited update! The vast majority of bugs have been squashed in this update to Datapack Manager and Dimensional Doors! Enjoy the new less laggy particles, performance config option, and various other small tweaks that have been made to improve the datapack.
With the power of Datapack Manager, your old Dimensional Doors will automagically update to fit the new datapack!
Legacy note: The default config for destructive doors has been switched back to true! Remember to change this back to false if you don't want your lovely builds blowing up!

Just a few desires/suggestions:
- Wondering if its possible to add a config to remove the partical effect.
- On the same note, a way to choose a different door. (I just think it suits the dungeon-like Spruce door better)
- Also it would be nice to be able to restrict use to players having an item in their inventory, or even those part of a team. (For creating team based bases, or complex tag minigames)
- And finally, possibly, a portal texture when open, even borrowing from the neather or end. Toggleable in config. (not sure if that is even possible)
I can add a config to remove the particles. Adding support for other doors is also on the checklist, just both of these won't be added so soon.
Restricting use is doable but I'll pass on it for now because a pressure plate on the floor with a command block only teleporting players on a certain team essentially does the same thing with far less effort haha.
Portal texture is not possible because I'm not going to use any resourcepacks or custom models.
The support for other doors and the partical config are the most desired. As you say, I'll come up with something else for the restriction.
Looking forward to the updates
but marks it in red
