After playing around with Geodes I determined that they are a pain to navigate and quickly end up a mess where you have to scaffold around to break all of the fully grown clusters which will always be in random locations.
With this pack you can skip most of that nonsense by crafting the buds, you still can't move the existing ones, or even the ones you craft. Think of this as a compromise between making them easier and keeping the original immovable intent behind them.
It also adds a recipe for renewable calcite because that block looks too good to be nonrenewable.
The recipe for budding amethyst is 4 calcite, 4 amethyst clusters, and 1 amethyst block. Essentially you need silk touch before you can craft this stuff, this pack makes it easier not easy, there's a difference. You want renewable budding amethyst? You have to work for it.
The recipe for calcite is 2 amethyst shards and 2 bone meal, I figured that since bones contain calcium and calcite only forms around amethyst in minecraft this was a logical recipe and since it is primarily a building block I made the recipe fairly cheap.
All old versions of the pack are available with the alternate download link.

I'm not too sure about the budding amethyst recipe though, I feel like the challenge of building a farm around the existing geode makes them more interesting than just crafting them. But if farming isn't interesting to you I can see why you would want this. Well done :)
