    This datapack is created to be a submission of Minecraft, but ??? Community Data Pack Event Entry. If you want to experience this datapack, you will also need to install the framework of this event. further guidance can be found on the framework download page above.


    Minecraft, but invisible lava is rising once a while.


    when this scenario is active, "invisible lava" will rise to where you stand after 5 seconds.
    To simplify, if you get below what is stated as "lava height", you will start taking damage (wither effect).
    for example, if the current lava height is Y=60, you will be safe if you are at Y=60 or above.

    players with fire-resistance effect will not take damage.
    the invisible lava height is different for every player, depends on your Y level when the scenario is active.

    lava will rise every 30 seconds for all players (+2 blocks).

    lava will be reset when a player dies or goes to another dimension.

    What is special about invisible lava is it does not create a mess in the world and does not need a world border. It suits the event well, in my opinion

    To be honest, this scenario alone is quite boring. it is suggested to pair with some kind of challenges or games.

    Since it is an event entry developed under a framework, so it cannot have any sort of setting. if anyone wants a stand-alone version, please let me know.

    At first, I was thinking to make Minecraft, but a hunter is chasing you. This idea was discarded because it is not something new, just an adaptation to fit the entry.

    all predicates have been moved to a mcb subfolder

    now lava start at 1 block below player at first (was at player level)

    +2 blocks for every lava rise (was +4 blocks)

    lava height will reset when player respawn or go to another dimension

    diving in water will no longer protect player from taking damage by invisible lava

    added sound effect

    Hey! I just reviewed your data pack and here's the feedback:
    Stale
    • The DPC flagged you on misplaced predicates. Please move fire_resist and in_water to a mcb subfolder. You can then use the predicates with "kyleong_mcb:mcb/fire_resist"
    • Optional: Perhaps the "lava" should start at 0? Because now if you happen to be on the surface, without a sufficient mountain in sight or enough blocks you are basically screwed for a whole 5 minutes xD
    • Optional: For the same reasons, perhaps the "lava" should reset when you die?
    Let me know when you changed something and what you changed!

    I have moved all predicates to an mcb subfolder, and I also make lava height reset after a player dies/goes to another dimension. I decrease the height of lava rise instead of making it start at 0 since I want the scenario to be more challenging.

    I also changed some minor things, they are noted in the update note. (I don't think they matters)
