Adds a new type of underground dungeon to your world, featuring randomly generated hallways created with the use of jigsaw blocks and a large selection of hand-crafted hallways, staircases and intersections containing loot, threats and more!
Sub-versions may show as "incompatible" on the data pack selection screen. You may safely ignore this warning, it means nothing for this pack as long as you are using the correct main version and won't affect generation or your world.-Uses custom loot tables to randomly generate loot, including different loot tables used for different room types.
-Scattered monster spawners add risk to exploration.
-More valuable treasures can rarely be found within dead-ends.
-Generation frequency weighted roughly the same as mineshafts, with sizes varying greatly to keep exploration interesting.
-Is not 1.18 (or earlier) compatible due to a change in the structuring of generation data packs.
-Suggestions for new room types are welcome. More rooms may be added at a later date!
How to use:
1. Download the zipped data pack (main download for latest version, or mirror link for other versions). Do not unzip the folder.
2. On the 'Create New World' screen, go to 'Data Packs'.
3. Go to 'Open Pack Folder'.
4. Drop the 'Forgotten Hallways' data pack into the folder that just opened. Ignore warnings about incompatibility, it will work as long as you downloaded the correct download for your current major version.
4. Click 'Done' and then 'Create New World'.
5. When prompted about experimental features, just click 'Yes'.
If you have cheats on, you can find the closest structure to you with /locate structure lord:hallway_dungeon. Otherwise, try looking around Y20 in open caverns or while stripmining; they usually aren't hard to find.

You will very likely encounter an issue with water flooding parts of the dungeon whenever the dungeon intersects a flooded cave. This is a hard-coded structure waterlogging feature and there is currently no known fix. If you know of a workaround, please leave it below in a comment.
Issue is finally fixed on 1.21 and above!

Update 1.2 - Updated to 1.21 : by TheSecondLord 09/16/2024 9:23:39 amSep 16th
Forgotten Hallways has finally been updated to 1.21! Sorry for taking so long after the release of 1.21, I've been busy but I finally got around to updating and pack and cleaning up this page. Datapack version is now on 48 (wow, those go up quickly), meaning this version will correctly show as compatible for 1.21 and 1.21.1. Heres the changes for this version:
-Unwanted waterlogging is gone!!!
-Mojang finally added a toggle in 1.21 for forced waterlogging of blocks. Stairs, slabs, walls etc. will no longer be waterlogged (and, consequentially, will no longer flood the whole dungeon) when the structure generates through an aquifer
-4 new rooms!
-1 corridor
-1 corner
-1 intersection
-1 stair dead-end
-Added custom loot tables
-The library and treasury chests no longer use vanilla loot tables, and instead use a similar custom loot table. This custom loot table will not spawn coast/eye armour trims, and will also have slightly toned-down loot (lower level enchanted books in library chests, and less diamonds in treasury chests)
-Some more changes to weighting of rooms
-Large halls and large corners were becoming increasingly uncommon, so weighting was adjusted to make them show up a little more
-Stairs are a little more common
-Dead-ends are more balanced
-Structure can once again generate under oceans, since water is no longer an issue
-Will no longer spam log with "Unable to find minecraft: " errors
-This was just a result of me forgetting to put "minecraft:empty" in the jigsaw blocks for the loot pieces
-It wasn't actually doing anything besides making the log freak out
-Changed "structures" to "structure" in the files
-Peak development, thanks 1.21
-Updated information on this page in accordance to changes
-Transitioning version mirror from Curseforge to Modrinth
-It may take some time for the Modrinth page to be approved. Once it has been approved, the mirror will be changed
-Friendship ended with curseforge, modrinth is my new best friend

Otherwise this pack is great and it's definitely one of my favorite structure packs I've run into!
