When playing on 1.14 or 1.15, use this link instead, or else you won't be able to find any good loot!
When using this in 1.16, there's an issue which causes all items in your inventory's crafting grid to be cleared. This is a bug that can be found here. For now, bear with it. Mojang is aware and set the priority of this one to high, so it shouldn't take too long for them to fix it.
[IMPORTANT] A word or two about AFK-fishing...
In 1.16, they now added conditions for AFK-fishing in the vanilla loot tables. These are now implemented in this datapack as well. Maybe you'll find this disappointing, but there's no reason to be. As we all know, AFK-fishing can be quite overpowered. The entire point of this datapack is to make fishing worth MANUALLY doing again. That means adding more valuable items, resulting in AFK-fishing being more powerful than ever. You could get an infinite supply of diamonds and other valuable items by doing literally nothing. Who would even take the effort of fishing if they can just get it as efficient while being AFK?
Also, AFK-fishing machines actually break the system without these conditions, so if you're playing on 1.15 or below, don't AFK-fish! If you didn't know, when a sea creature is caught, it starts out as a bedrock item, which is then turned into an actual mob. This is because you can't actually hook up entities, and this is just a workaround. However, the hopper in AFK-fishing contraptions will pick up this bedrock item before it is replaced with the sea creature. Same goes for item stacking, you'll have to throw all items on the ground first.
For everyone using this datapack in 1.15 or below, you should really think about this. Perhaps set up some rules, or an AFK system if possible/necessary. If you encounter any issues while using AFK-machines, it's most likely not something I can do about if it's a hopper picking up the item before the datapack can detect it.
"Ever felt fishing was boring? Useless? Improved Fishing can change that!"
Improved Fishing is a datapack that improves the fishing experience by adding almost 5x as many drops you can catch. And there's more than just items to catch. On top of the normal items, you can now also catch sea creatures out of the water. To manipulate the chances, lets say you wanna grind more sea creature loot, you can use custom fishing rods, such as the Warrior Rod.
Fishing still works like normal; you cast your rod into the water and hook it in at the right time. But you can now catch sea creatures, some passive, some hostile. But beware, some of these hostile creatures can be pretty tough. They're not useless though, as they can drop some useful loot! In total there are 18 different sea creatures you can catch.
Aside from the default fishing rod, you can now also obtain multiple types of fishing rods that allow you to fish for more specific items. You can fish for more sea creatures, animals, guardians, have a chance to get double drops, and more! You can obtain these fishing rods from the Sunken Fisherman, one of the sea creatures. Of course all your fishing rods can still be enchanted and renamed like normal.
Your first catch will be a book that explains all of this once more, so you and other players will be informed.
There might be some balancing issues, since I couldn't be bothered sitting behind my PC fishing for hours upon hours. So if you find something that might require balancing, or just wanna give feedback in general, feel free to reach out me through the socials provided on my profile page. Thanks!

Found out why! I was playing around with a crafting datapack, and turns out the /clear command clears everything in crafting grids when called in the new snapshots. Here's the ticket: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-172272
MOJANG please
