InfiniStructures Dimensions is a dimension add-on to vanilla Minecraft. It contains two dimensions with significantly increased structure generation using Overworld and Nether structures. The purpose of this pack is to provide a place where chest loot is fairly abundant.

Warnings
  • As with any datapack using custom dimensions, this is an experimental feature. Use with caution.
  • Weak computers may struggle loading the dimensions if render distance is too high due to the large amount of entities that load with the structures.

Notable Features

Portals

There are two new nether portals added in this pack. These use dark_prismarine and crying_obsidian as their frames. Similar to vanilla nether portals, these:
  • Allow variable frame size (up to a perimeter limit of 100 blocks),
  • Frames must be empty,
  • The corners of frames are optional,
  • Portals link up between dimensions.
  • Frames work on both x and z axis.
However,
  • The portals will only light by a player using flint and steel.
Dimensions

Use the dark_prismarine portal to access the overworld-structure dimension.
  • The dimension is mostly ocean covered in a layer of villages. Certain structures like desert temples spawn underwater (because why not). Note that pillager outposts don't spawn due to the large amount of villages.

Use the crying_obsidian portal to access the nether-structure dimension.

In both dimensions, use a regular obsidian nether portal to return. One will be created for you when you enter the dimension.

Setup

  1. Build the frame like you would a normal nether portal.
  2. Light the base with flint and steel.

Installation

No need to unzip. Place the file in your world's data pack folder, or drag it in to the Data Packs option on world creation.

Uninstallation

Delete the datapack from the save's "datapacks" folder, as well as the 'infdim' folder from the save's 'dimensions' folder.
Note that there are markers on each of the portals that are not removed.

I built both of the portals in a single player world and realms multiplayer with stained glass but the portals will not activate. it is just the diamond blocks and glass. no effects of activation of portal. it isn't working for me.

UPDATE: I was able to get it to work on my single player world after deleting, reinstalling and then reopening the world 2 times. I cannot restart the realms because of the nature of it being a realms and cannot get it to work in the realms, and going in and out does not help establish the portal. If you have a solution please let me know.

I am glad you got it to work a single player world. Unfortunately I have never used realms before and as such I don't know where to begin offering advice for fixing that. As this entire pack is based off experimental features there are likely to be bugs and edge cases where things don't work properly. From my conversation with SilentDawn, it seems that to get this pack to work it requires restarting a server.
I'm sorry i'm not able to be of more help.

Thats no problem and thanks for getting back to me. many other datapacks I have downloaded do not work with realms because the ability to restart the realms like a server does not exist. this is just a problem with using a realms, along with other issues. we have come to accept it doesnt work but it is very fun in my singleplayer world. fun pack, appreciate it.

Should this work on a server? Not getting anything happening when building the infiniworld portal on our server after loading the pack. (1.16.1 server)

I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work. That said I haven't tested it on a server.
Have you restarted the server? I find even on single player that I have to exit and then re-enter the world for the dimensions to load.
If you have commands enabled you can check to see if the dimensions are loaded correctly. Start typing '/execute in ' and it should give you some autofill options. Above the default options there should be 'infini:inifininether' and 'infini:infiniworld'.

Thank you for the fast reply and help. It was a matter of the server needing to be rebooted then it worked fine. Thanks. Enjoying the pack.

Indeed it is. This is to balance out the insane amount of loot that generates in these dimensions.
