About the data pack

This data pack is to make Minecraft's mobs have more abilities and new mechanics while having the vanilla feel. I will also try to add more variety to the Minecraft mobs in the overworld with custom heads and unused mobs. The data pack will also try to have some features related to other spin-offs like Minecraft Dungeons.

Teams/Civilizations

Teams in this data pack show different civilizations or a group of mobs/players. As the player, you start out being on your own type of team where you then could choose to join other civilizations in the Minecraft world under certain conditions. When you join a team, you can gain buffs or abilities that are special to that certain civilization.

Player
The default team is known as Team Player. They are what you will start with when you first join the world. They have no special buffs or abilities, unlike other teams/civilizations. Although this is the case, the player team is the one team that allows you to choose any type of team to join by doing a certain task.
Illager
They destroy villages and put outposts around them. Team Illager is known for the size of its army with its innovation in magic and tools. Maybe if you help them on their path of conquest they might accept you as part of their team. Joining them could allow you to become a commander of the Illager armies and take over the overworld with a goat horn in hand.
Villager
Team Villager, the peaceful group of people trying to survive against the raids of the Illagers. Trying their best to manufacture and survive with their tools and crops to be sold. They may need some help with protecting themselves against the Illagers' attacks. Maybe if you were to help the villagers with trade and protection you could be invited into the village. You might even become a better Deal Maker at the end of this.
Piglin
Piglins ravage the nether, hunting hoglins, and attacking wither skeletons. Team Piglin might be all about getting things done with brute force, but they might know some type of secret strategy for their interest in gold. If you were to help hunt for them they might allow you to live within the bastions they try to protect.

Mobs

Mobs appear all around the world of Minecraft with different mechanics and AI. The mobs you'll find now have had a full remake on abilities and teams. This results in more variety or more buffs to the mob.

🛠️Mob Tweaks🛠️
  • All zombie variants now have a 10% chance of spawning in hordes of 5 zombies of their type
  • All skeleton variants now have a 20% chance of spawning within squads of their type
  • All zombie variants pick up loot, call for other zombies, and break down doors
  • Husks now have 30 health or 15 hearts with small knockback resistance
  • Wither Skeletons now have a 25% chance to spawn as a Wither Skeleton Archer
  • Piglins now have a 20% chance of spawning in groups of 5
  • Piglins now have a 15% chance of spawning as a Piglin Brute
  • Evokers now have 100 health or 50 hearts now
  • Illusioners now has 100 health or 50 hearts now
  • Ravagers now has 200 health or 100 hearts now
  • Iron Golems now have a jump smash attack and a 60% damage reduction
  • Creepers now run towards their target if they're close to them

⭐New Mobs⭐

MOB SPEED STATS MEANING
Sluggish:
Turtles, Blazes, and any other mobs that have the speed of a player crouching or rarely move
SLOW: Zombies, Creepers, or any mob with the walking speed of the player
Medium: Skeletons, Wolfs, or any mob that is slightly faster than the walking speed of the player
FAST:
Warden, Ravager, or any mob that can match the speed of the player sprinting
Lightning: Cats, Evoker, Foxes, or Villagers which have the ability to outrun players when sprinting

Illusioner
Health: 100
Damage: 6
Speed: Lightning

The Illusioner in this data pack is based on the Minecraft Dungeons version. They can summon illusions that can attack the player, while the real illusioner shoots Illusioner Arrows that explode on contact. These arrows, however, don't damage any blocks, but instead act as splash damage to any unsuspecting mobs/players. Be careful when fighting against the Illusioner, for they can easily confuse you with its blindness spell.

Enchanted Mobs & Ancient Mobs
Just like in Minecraft Dungeons, There will be Enchanted and Ancient mobs that will appear in the game. These mobs will have Minecraft Dungeon Enchantments that can change how you fight or use them in your world. Enchanted Mobs will also have their health multiplied by 9 so be careful when fighting them.
LIST OF ENCHANTS MOBS CAN HAVE
Chilling - Slows down nearby enemies
Double Damage - Doubles the mob's damage
Fire Trail - Creates a fire behind the mob (Won't set fire to blocks)
Protection - Gives a 60% damage reduction
Quick - Similar to the speed effect
Regeneration - Regenerates health back
---Only Ranged Mobs---
Flame - Set fire to who it hits
Power - More damage with arrow shots
Poison Cloud - Spawns a poisonous cloud where it lands

ANCIENT MOBS

Chicken Jockey Tower

Health: (Chicken: 4) (Zombies: 20)
Damage: 4
Speed: Sluggish - Medium

The Chicken Jockey Tower is one bizarre mob to come across. Unlike normal Chicken Jockeys, which have one baby zombie on top, This chicken has somehow found a way to have a stack of 6 baby zombies on top of each other.

Structures

With this data pack, there will be structures based on other Minecraft games. This will also try to recreate some structures in the game that haven't been touched in a long time.

Plains Ruined Portal
A mysterious Plains Ruined Portal that is much larger than others. The portal seems to resemble one that was used way back in the ancient time of Minecraft. The portal resembles the structure in the legends the Piglins used the bridge the gaps between the overworld and the nether.

The enchants are not custom for the player. The custom enchants are mainly for enchanted mobs for the time being. Players can join teams by slowly working their way to gain the trust of certain mobs. This trust can be gained by killing certain mobs the team is against, or trading with them, or causing events (Such as raids). Make sure to check using /trigger [command name]

I'm having extreme tick lag when I run this datapack? It could be due to the spiderqueen summoning an abundance of spiders and cobwebs, plus its inability to despawn.

Actually, it's not the spider queen that is causing the lag (I think). From what I've tested it mainly comes from the zombie hordes that spawn every so often. There will be changes to this in the future to try to make it run smoother.

Edit: I found out it was from zombies in one of the structures also will be removing the spider queen thank you for telling me the bug

Thanks for the idea! I was thinking about adding something similar but with gold tools instead. Thank you though for showing support for the data pack still.

I have some more ideas, like "classes", which would vary from group to group. The horder job for piglins lets you hold more items depending on how much gold you have, the warlord job attacks villages for spoils from the well, and the merchant trades his way to the top for even more money and exclusive auctions! There would be a variation of jobs and players could get one more each time they improve their standing! Honestly, this whole pack is starting to remind me of the game I am making. One more simple thing: Villager players wearing blue leather cloth gain invisibility at night and are undetectable unless they attack.

Thanks for all the ideas! Although classes would be nice to add to the data pack I don't think I will. The idea of classes is a great idea, but it does not really fit well with the data pack here that I am trying to make. About the piglin merchant, I was thinking of adding it from Minecraft Dungeons or recreating it in some way for Minecraft in some type of structure or spawns. On the idea of jobs in Minecraft, I believe that should be what the player decides to do. If anything were to be like jobs it would be the advancements added to the data pack.
