Material Counter Minecraft Data Pack

Material Counter

Material Counter is a datapack that lets you quickly check which materials and how many of each are required to recreate a selected structure in Minecraft.

Simply select an area using the dedicated tool, and the datapack will automatically analyze every block and display a complete list of the required materials.

Features

  • Counts every block within the selected area.
  • Displays a complete list of the required materials.
  • Provides the exact quantity of every block needed.
  • Includes a dedicated tool for selecting an area.
  • Comes with its own crafting recipe for the selection tool.

Usage

1. Obtain the Tool

You can get the tool in two different ways:

a) Craft it using the crafting table with the following recipe:

Material Counter Minecraft Data Pack

b) Obtain it instantly using the command:

/function materialcounter:give_item

2. Mark Position 1 at one corner of the build using right-click.

3. Mark Position 2 at the opposite corner using right-click.

4. Wait for the game to calculate the blocks.
(This may take a while depending on the selected area size and your computer's performance.)

5. Done! The material list will appear in chat.

Compatibility

This datapack does not require any additional mods or libraries.

Simply place it in the datapacks folder of your world.

To make the tool use its custom texture, place the same ZIP file in the resourcepacks folder as well!

Warning!

Selecting extremely large areas may cause the game to crash. Use this tool responsibly.

Your world should not be corrupted, as Minecraft Java Edition can restore backups after crashes caused by datapacks.
