How to install Minecraft Data Packs

This datapack adds Mega Torches that prevent hostile mob spawns in a 32 block radius.

How to use:
- Place a coal block on top of a log, then ignite the coal using flint and steel

Notes:
- Mega torches don't increase light levels
- You can hide mega torches underground, and they will still work
- Creating a mega torch will not kill any already existing mobs
- Mega torches don't prevent non-hostile mobs from spawning

How to install:
1) Download the .zip file
2) Drag the downloaded datapack into your world's "datapacks" folder

so if you placed this on the surface would it it prevent mobs from spawning underground?

I found a small issue I had to break and move my mega torch and it dropped Black Concrete Powder instead of returning the coal block. Looking at the code I can see you swapped the blocks for looks, sadly i'm not code savvy enough to know how to fix it.

What do you mean?
This works on all versions since 1.13
Please make sure you've installed the datapack properly.

Edit: I tried it on 1.14.3, and it works fine.

Hey there!
If you wanna change the distance, go to:
datapacks/Mega Torch v1.1 [Datapack]/functions/main.mcfunction
Then change the 32 to your value, and 36 to your value + 4

It works pretty well. I noticed that they still spawn but are "insta-killed" the moment they spawn but doesn't kill the already existing ones (i know thats not the intention)

now i can get rid of this absurdity
