There you will be smaller in 5 times (your height will half of block). Mobs can crush you. You have 2,5 hearts and give in 4 times low damage, you break blocks in 2 times slower. You will move slower and jump lower in the grass, but if you jump into the grass you won't take fall damage. Loot from mobs in 5 times more. If you use paper you don't get fall damage. There won't fall damage from 1 block.
