I'm back!
This is a project I made for my friends on a server. It was originally all command block chains, but now it's a full-on data pack.
It's a wave-based game sort of like Left 4 Dead, in which there are tons of enemies which spawn and you have to fight through them to destroy special Wave Totems to progress the level.
This pack contains all of the tools necessary to create your own MVM maps, such as unique Spawn Stations for setting up where enemies will spawn. For help on how to use the tools, download the tutorial and go through it. It's very basic but should teach you something.
Oh yeah, this was also made with MrCrayfish's Gun Mod in mind. There's no requirement to use it, but it would definitely make running a raid much easier.

Q&A
How Do I Start an MVM Raid?
After a map has been set up, have everyone join the team 'mvm', either by a command block or manually. Then, have everyone enter the prepared map. Once that's all taken care of, run this command:
Also, a couple notes: some enemies may burn in daylight, so consider setting the time to night or making it rain. Players can break blocks, and that may mess up the map. Have everyone be in Adventure mode for MVM.
/function mvm:startmvm Then, if everything has been set up properly, the game will begin. Enemies and totems will spawn, and you can play MVM.Also, a couple notes: some enemies may burn in daylight, so consider setting the time to night or making it rain. How Do I Beat an MVM Raid?
The goal of MVM is to kill all of the glowing Wave Totems (zombies with full enchanted leather armor). They take reduced damage from ranged attacks, so it's actually better to take them out with a melee. Once all Wave Totems are destroyed, the next wave will begin and you will have to repeat the process. On the fourth wave, instead of Wave Totems, a boss will appear somewhere and will need to be killed, which will end the game.
What Happens When You Die? What's That "Team Lives" Counter?
Your team only has so many lives. Once you use up all of the extra lives, you lose the game. Don't worry, everyone should share the same amount of lives- I just couldn't be bothered to set up some better way of displaying the lives system.
There's no built-in respawn system, so using the example from the tutorial world or setting up your own way is recommended.

How Do I Set Up a Map?
MVM doesn't have an automatic map setup, so you need to make a map yourself, and use the tools available to you. The tutorial should explain how to get the tools and stations, but here are some extra tips:
Make maps about 200 blocks apart, or further. That way, a player won't accidentally spawn enemies on another map and break the game.
Place Wave Totems in separate areas like rooms or buildings, to get a breach-and-clear sort of feeling.
Use Buff Totems sparingly, but place them in areas with a lot of enemies to pack a punch.
For every wave, try spreading enemies out differently. Try to avoid repetitive spawn areas, and mix things up instead.
Bosses are easy without any other enemies around. Spawn in Minions and Buff Totems!

Can I Have Multiple MVM Raids Going at the Same Time?
No. It's designed for a single group to run a raid together, so things will definitely break if multiple happen at the same time.
Roadmap:
- Add more enemy types
- Add documentation to the data pack, to allow for players to easily customize
- Improve tutorial
- Add a couple pre-prepared maps
- Add more interesting mechanics
- Get more screenshots and a better thumbnail
