Swords V3.2.1
For Minecraft 1.18.2!

The Swords datapack a bunch of new sword types to the game. The goal was to try and make unique items that are more than just statistical upgrades while also attempting to still fit in with the art style and general game design of Minecraft. While definitely not perfect, the pack does a fairly good job of achieving these goals while adding a load of new content. It was made for Sub’s World for his video on the topic, which you can check out below.

How do you get the sword?

You can craft them in the Sword Crafter. All recipes are at the bottom of this page or in-game for people that donate.

There are also give commands you can use if you aren’t playing survival mode.

/function wasd.sword:give/<type of sword>
Replace <type of sword> with the type of sword you are wanting. Wooden, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite, Stone, Other?

You can also put box_ before the type to place a shulker box filled with those swords instead of getting the items in your inventory. box_stone, box_wooden, etc.

/function wasd.sword:give/box_diamond/function wasd.sword:give/netherite/function wasd.sword:give/all

So, what do the swords do?

  • Chorus Sword:
It has the ability to randomly teleport mobs hit by it.

  • End Crystal Sword:
It deals damage exponentially with the equation being 2^x. This means that it starts at 1 damage, then 2, then 4, 8, 16, and so on.

  • Cursed Sword:
It deals 13 damage but has a fairly high chance to recoil back onto the user, making it fairly dangerous to use.

  • Firework Sword:
It causes a random firework explosion at the mob hit by the sword. Somewhat dangerous to use, as the explosion can hit the users as well.

  • SwordFish:
It mostly just exists for the pun. It gives a weak poison for a short time.

  • Glass Sword:
It causes the target to bleed. Damage taken from the bleeding is stronger the lower the glass swords durability was at the time of use.

  • Glowstone Sword:
The Glowstone sword causes targets to start glowing and be stunned for a short time.

  • Honey Sword:
The Honey Sword covers mobs in a thick layer of the sticky stuff, causing them to be quite slowed down for 10 seconds. The sword itself has low attack damage and slow attack speed.

  • Magma Sword:
This sword has the ability to sometimes set mobs on fire. Pretty similar to fire aspect, but it is an inherent trait of the material the sword is constructed of instead of an enchantment.

  • Piston Sword:
It can send mobs flying. Essentially just a weak sword with knockback III.

  • Totem Sword:
A Totem of Undying forged into a sword. It can be used as an okay weapon while also being capable of saving your life. It cannot be enchanted.

  • Obsidian Sword:
It starts off dealing high damage which decreases the lower the sword’s durability.

  • Emerald Sword:
Deals low damage to most mobs, but massive damage to raiders.

  • Quartz Sword:
Deals massive damage in the Nether, but none in the Overworld or End. It cannot be enchanted for more damage.

  • Prismarine Sword:
Deals high damage to mobs in water, but does nothing outside of water. It cannot be enchanted for more damage.

  • Slime Sword:
Launches mobs hit into the air. Does little damage and swings slowly.

  • Paper Sword:
Does very little damage, but can be swung very fast. It causes paper cuts, which incur bleeding damage on the foe.

  • Ice Sword:
Does a small amount of damage, but freezes foes in place for a short time. A useful utility sword.

  • TNT Sword:
Does no base damage, but causes small explosions on the target. It can deal a fair amount of damage, but also causes world damage.

  • Sponge Sword:
It is a floppy noodle of a weapon, but water around the target is drained. It could be used as a tool to remove water.

  • Shulker Sword:
Does some damage and also causes the target to levitate for a short time. The fall damage can make this fairly powerful.

  • Ender Sword:
Right-Click to teleport randomly. Also can be used as a decent sword, but can’t be enchanted. Unbreakable.

  • Wither Skeleton Sword:
An upgraded diamond sword. Deals extra wither damage. Which can hurt nearly all the mobs in the game.

  • Sticky Piston Sword:
Pulls foes towards you when hit. Useful? Uhh, sure.

  • Nautilus Sword:
Deals low damage, but has great durability. Deals extra damage while you are in water.

  • Soil Sword:
Deals very little damage, but blinds the target for a short time. Blindness doesn’t affect mobs in any way.

  • Wet Sponge Sword:
Does very little damage, but does massive damage to hydrophobic mobs.

  • Notch Sword:
    Makes mobs drop apples.

  • Nametag Sword:
Gives the target a random name. Named mobs with this sword will still despawn.
  • Egg Sword:
Drop an egg on mob’s heads when you hit them.
  • Lapis Sword:
    Gets randomly enchanted on craft.
  • Stick Sword:
Useful for training. Deals very little damage.
  • Bread Sword:
Can be right-clicked to take a bite out of it, restoring some hunger.

  • Coal Sword:
Places a torch if you hit a mob in darkness.

  • Cactus Sword:
Deals high damage, but some recoils onto the user.

  • Redstone Sword:
Causes a lightning strike when standing on powered redstone when attacking.

  • Clay-More:
Deals high damage, but is swung very slowly.

  • Turtle Sword:
Gives Resistance 3… and Slowness 3 when held.

  • Dolphin Sword:
Gives Dolphin’s Grace while in water when held.

  • Copper Sword:
Slowly oxidizes while held. Deals more poison damage the more oxidized it is.

  • Tuff Sword:
Has very high durability but deals fairly low damage.

  • Deepslate Sword:
Deals more damage while low in the world.

  • Dripstone Sword:
Drops a pointed dripstone on the targets head.

  • Moss Sword:
Randomly places moss carpet around the hit mob.

  • Amethyst Sword:
Creates an amethyst crystal that slowly grows, then explodes with some area damage.

  • Sign Sword:
Places a random sign with the name of the target on it.

  • Bell Sword:
Stuns the target due to the loud noise.

  • Carrot Sword:
Gives the user night vision for a bit when attacking.

  • Melon Sword:
Causes an explosion of melon that damages mobs in a small radius.

  • Anvil Sword:
Drops an anvil on the target's head.

  • Hay Bale Sword:
    Sometimes makes mobs drop wheat.

  • Beacon Sword:
Gives the user a random beacon effect when you hit a mob.

  • Flower Pot Sword:
Makes the target get stuck in a flower pot for a bit.

  • Golden Carrot Sword:
Gives 20 seconds of night vision when you hit a mob.

  • Ender Eye Sword:
Tells you how far away the stronghold is when you hit a mob.

  • Bookshelf Sword:
Rarely makes the target drop a random enchanted book.

  • Sapling Sword:
Plants a random sapling on hit when on a plantable surface..

  • Coral Sword:
Heals you while held in water.

  • Cobweb Sword:
Slows the target in sticky cobwebs for a bit.

  • Glass Pain Sword:
Deals super high damage, but has 3 durability and cannot be repaired or enchanted.

  • Netherrack Sword:
Makes the target rarely drop quartz or gold nuggets.

  • Glow Berry Sword:
Causes glowing for a short time.

  • Chain Sword:
Causes the target to get stuck in chains for a bit.

  • Diorite Sword:
    The bests sword ever made.

  • End Stone Sword:
Can sometimes cause levitation, and sometimes randomly teleport.

  • Conduit Sword:
Deals damage to all nearby mobs that are in water.

  • Pumpkin Sword:
    Places pumpkins on mobs heads.

  • Brick Sword:
Stuns mobs for a very short time.

Makes mobs drop random potatoes sometimes on hit.

Update V3.2.1 : by Eastonium 05/15/2022 8:36:24 pmMay 15th

Updated the previous update, that used the NBT Crafting Mod (fabric).
For some reason, Forge can load an invalid recipe, which was causing the crafters to be unable to be craftable. I found a way to not allow recipes to load only in Forge, so that should be fixed now.

You don't actually need the custom crafter. Just make the sword crafter in a vanilla crafting table.
However, not being able to make the custom crafter likely means you are missing the required library datapack.
