This datapacks allows you to have 8 chests in 1 block!
Simply slap an item frame and End Crystal onto a chest to turn it into a Multi-Chest. The End Crystal will be consumed, leaving you with an empty item frame. Put a Chest into the item frame to increase the capacity of the Multi-Chest. Put in any other item and rotate it to cycle through the chests. If you rotate past the capacity of the Multi-Chest, the item frame will rotate itself back to the first position.
If you break the chest, you will get all items in all chests and the chests themselves back!
Item Frames
- They can be placed on any of the 6 sides of a chest.
- They are nothing but an interface to the Multi-Chest. Removing an item frame has no effect on the contents of a Multi-Chest
Double Chests
Note about the images: "Rotation" means cycling through the inventories of the different chests inside the Multi-Chest. What side the item frame is placed on in the first and last images is not relevant.
- Cycling through a Multi-Chest, with a neighbouring normal chest still works. It'll cycle the Multi-Chest half of a chest while leaving the other half alone.

- A double chest where both halves are Multi-Chests with two item frames will cause the item frames to cycle the halves independently.

- If afterwards one of the item frames is removed, the other will cycle both chests! You'll get error messages above the hotbar if the neighbouring chest has an empty itemframe or doesn't have the same capacity.

This is the first datapack by me that's distributed as ZIP file. Do NOT unzip it, but just throw the entire file into the datapacks folder. For more information, see the spoiler below.

I encountered a bug! What do I do now?
I test all my creations, but bugs happen no matter how long you test something. Whenever someone experiences a bug, I do my best to fix the issue. You can help me by providing any useful information. You can never give me enough information, but please send it in a DM instead of placing it in the comments. You can still place a one-liner in the comments stating the issue to make the community aware, but that alone isn't enough to help me fix the issue.
- Checklist: Are you using the right version? Did you do /reload after dropping the datapack in? After /reload, does the datapack show up green in /datapack list?
- What is the issue? Does the datapack not seem to be working at all or is there a specific feature you are having issues with?
- What happened? Please give me all the steps needed to reproduce the issue. The faster I can experience it, the faster I can solve it.
- What did you expect to happen instead? This helps me understand your point of view and determine if the issue described is actually the issue I need to fix. The bug you are experiencing could just be a side effect of something else that doesn't behave as expected.

Let me know what to create next in the comments below!

Have something to say?
Would it be possible to create a version of it where they get liked.
So like if you put an item frame on an ender chest you could use it has 8 enderchests in one.
And then let hoppers access the chest that it is configured so i can have setting 1 for a farm and then put a setting one ender chest in my item sorter so everything i put in a setting 1 enderchest will be picked up by a hopper from the other ender chest with setting one
It also works with most recent Optifine (pre4), although that should't be an issue since you haven't added any textures. :)
