This is a datapack that adds an alternate way to rename items. All you need are a book and quill and a lectern.

How to rename an item:
1. Write some text on a book and quill. The first page is going to be the name, and the rest will be the lore. Each page corresponds to each line.
2. Sign the book with the titles listed below.
3. Place the signed book on a lectern.
4. Throw the item on the lectern.

How to rename an item:

This is amazing! I have two requests though:
- Add a way to un-rename items (you can do it in the anvil, just name something “ “ and then name it again deleting the spacebar). I trie with empty books, but it doesn’t seem to be possible.
- Add a way to remove that ugly italic style from the name. It’s tougher to read.

Amazing pack though! Thanks for this

Probably not. But it can be better it could use JSON Text Components.
btw. wiping out item Lore is a bad idea when using any Enchantments+ datapack

Probably not. The § sign is no longer useful, and there's still not a single text option in the book editing UI yet.
